Who are involved with Symmetric brand?
Lino: It's pretty much a collaboration of me and some of my close friends I grew up with.

What made you decide to do a clothing brand?
Lino: A couple years ago we started MassTransit clothing which we had to stop because of a trademark issue with the name, so it pretty much evolved into Symmetric.

After mulling it over with most of the team, and discussing possibilities with the innards of Profile, we are excited to annouce that Chad Degroot is now riding for Profile! We have some ideas is the works, some roadtrips planned, some photos to be shot, and some product to develop.

The new issue of Props just came out. They're at issue 63 which is incredible. Props to that. A couple of good things about the Props issues are that they are top quality. Good angles, good editing, good lighting and one must say that they've got 99% of the riders' names in the picture which must be a nightmare to pull off at times. Issue #63 is long, which is good in my book for a video magazine. You don't feel ripped off. Coming up with new things each issue is difficult but you can find a Props stamp on the cover of # 63 that will be your entry form for a Hoffman - Animal product giveaway. Nice touch as not everyone is sponsored but everyone can use free parts for their bikes, especially when they come from Animal or Hoffman . Enough blahblah, here's what's inside:

Vans teamed up with Schwinn bicycles and tricked out a 1968 Krate Bike to match the Vans sparkle slip-ons that you can see in the photo. The sneakers will be available for purchase on VANS.com , but the only way to get a hold of this extremely low-run bike is to enter a contest on the Complex site. One lucky winner will be drawn randomly.

Byron Friday is one of the riders from the old school. He rode for Kawasaki's BMX team so if that isn't an indication of his roots in BMX we don't know what is. Byron's 30 years of BMX participation got him thinking.

He thought the Joe Kid on a Stingray movie left out a few people who needed mentioning so he made an old school BMX collage with a few thank-you's at the bottom. Check out those pics, they tell a story or two.

-Just a quick mail to tell you what's happening for me over here, well I am riding for Wethepeople, I spoke to Harry and Klaus and will be back on-board a new bike soon. Stoked that we sorted everything out and everyone is happy. I'm also riding Odyssey parts for the Padded Cell here in the UK.

-The Alley in Corby has had planning approved for the new roof and Vert/Resi ramp so the building should start very soon which means that the UK/Europe should have its first true Vert Resi up and running. Hopefully before the end of May.

Raphael Chiquet: No, first time.

Do you think it's right that the event is taking place in Japan this time?
Raphael Chiquet: Yes, I think this event has to take place there.

Do you believe that Japan is the country where flatland is most popular?
Raphael Chiquet: For sure, I think you can find riders everywhere in the country. That's amazing.

Do you have an idea why?
Raphael Chiquet: I think the Japanese way of thinking is appropriate for flatland: originality, technicality, underground.

After a qualification round, 14 riders made it to the man-to-man battle final at the Red Bull 14 flatland contest in Real de Catorce, Mexico. The three Red Bull pros that were flown in from Spain, Finland and the USA had no problems with the Mexican competition and ended up on the podium.
