FATBMX 2012 EVENT REVIEW: ONK, HELM TRAILS. It was the first time that a Dutch rider won the Open Dutch BMX Dirt Championships at the Helm Trails in Helmond, Netherlands. The Belgian riders had been the strongest the last two years but this time Desmond Tessemaker showed the Dutch have some dirt jumping skills too. The day kicked off with a bright sunshine and practice for all starting at 10am. The new trails were well received by pretty much everyone. Riders were impressed by the spot which put a smile on the faces of the locals who had been digging for months to get the spot ready in time for the event. Much respect. Catfish got on the mic for the 13 and under class qualification runs on the tables in the middle of the dirt spot. With encouragement from the crowd 8 riders made it to the finals. Same went on for the 14+ group who each had two runs with the best run counting for a final spot.
