TJ Lavin's backyard is not for pussies. With Interbike taking place in Las Vegas, this place might see a session or two. Jose took us there last year. TIme to refresh: After a few calls to TJ we made it into his backyard to be impressed by the place. Before you can even hit the first jump you will need to conquer that roll-in gap first which looks hella scary. After that the jumps are steep and big. Pros only? Maybe, but TJ has been on the pro dirtjump circuit longer than pretty much anyone.Enjoy the pics.

In the past few years the Friday at Interbike was a bit of a waste. The last day after the Nora Cup was used looking at the watch ready to get the hell out of Vegas. This year however we still had a lot to see and to do on the last day of Interbike. In fact, we did not even get to talk to everyone or see every single booth. It is another sign that there was no shortage of BMX activities and things for 2009 are looking good regardless of the international banking crisis that is taking place at the moment. The four time BRAUN cruzer Tour Champ Mark Webb did it again and busted this year IFMA Spine Jam. The 23-year-old English guy seams to be unbeatable at the Braun Miniramp. This year IFMA Spine Jam from 20th to 21st of September proved himself again as the spectator’s magnet at IFMA Cologne 2008. No surprise as the almost the whole European BMX- Elite was attendant. During the competition Mark Web never was in danger not to get the biggest peace of the 4000€ price money. The Suzuki team rider almost showed up with his complete trick repertoire and just landed his first Flair to Fakie, or other tricks as 360 Tailwhips to just name a few of it.

But also the other BMX-Pros could convince with incredible stunts. All ahead Harry Main, with a never seen airtime and huge Flairs. The tradeshow visitors couldn’t believe that it’s a human being showing that performance. Furthermore he was the only guy who banged a 900 to the BRAUN cruZer Spine.
Results:

More than 70 riders showed up at the T-Mobile Local Support Street Challenge for an exciting ending of the Local Support contest-series 2008. The crowd in Emmering saw a stunning BMX show and, to top that off, “Destination Anywhere” rocked out with finest ska-punk. Pro and amateur riders from all over Germany and Austria competed in a head to head battle and finally here were following results: Mark König’s and Kevin Liehn’s team “D.t.D.i.K.” won a tie against the team “Wiesnabsturz”, made up of Sergej Geier and Michi Sieren, as a result of more points in the teamscoring.

Therefore D.t.D.i.K. received a prize in the amount of 4.000 € for their local spot, and team “Wiesnabsturz” won a 50-person BBQ at their personal spot. Third place was taken by Sven „Sprosse“ Lehmann and Tino Schnecke with their team “Rettet den Mellowpark”.

Another close fight took place at the amateur final, at which the team “Keule meets Baumelt “ rode an incredible run winning them 1st

In the week leading up to Halloween, Rochester, NY residents will have to look out for more than ghouls and goblins in the streets. On October 25th, more than 30 of the best BMX riders in the country will gather at the Rochester Main Street Armory for a contest that will be full of tricks, and for the best riders, some much deserved treats. Red Bull Trick or Treat will feature Halloween themed obstacles, like a grave stone wall ride gap and a massive coffin shaped wedge. Taking place inside the historic Rochester Main Street Armory (next door to the haunted House of Pain), the event is free for all ages. For those who are not easily spooked, they will get to see some of the biggest names in BMX, including recent X Games BMX Street gold medalist Garrett Reynolds, 2006 X Games Park gold medalist Scotty Cranmer, Edwin DeLaRosa, Corey Martinez, Chris Doyle, Aaron Ross, Chase Hawk, Brian Kachinsky and Sean Sexton. These riders will battle it out for $4,000 in prize money against Rochester locals like Jay Roe, Tony Hamlin, Tom Dillon and Steve Debusk.

­DC welcomes Ida Kay Khabazian to its Public Relations, Media and Entertainment department in the newly created position where she will join the Marketing team at DC headquarters in Vista, CA on October 1. In her role, Ida will represent the company and be responsible for building strategic entertainment marketing plans to increase brand image and recognition through product placement. 

If somebody would ask us, where our roots has to be found, the answer would be defently, "in the bmx sport". (o.k., o.k.! before bmx came to our country, we were flying on 26" touring bikes with "torpedo" 3-speed gears" - but that does not sound so cool at all!)
