Vans is excited to announce the return of BMX to the Vans US Open of Surfing. As part of the inaugural Van Doren Invitational bowl jam, Vans kick starts the weekend with top-notch BMX competition on July 26 and 27, against the famed backdrop of the Vans US Open of Surfing. With $30,000 on the line, thirty of the greatest BMX riders will go head to head in the first-ever all cement bowl on the beach, the Vans Pro Bowl, inspired by the original bowl riders' mecca, the legendary Skatepark du Prado bowl on the beach in Marseilles, France.

The Van Doren Invitational will host the cream of the crop in BMX talent including Vans’ own Scotty Cranmer, Ryan Guettler, and Gary Young, plus seasoned contest specialists Ryan Nyquist, Daniel Dhers and Dennis Enarson. Upping the ante for this year’s contest, competitors will be challenged to prove their skills during their entire jam based on a new scoring format that ranks riders for overall performance. And to turn up the heat even more, competitors will also have the chance to snag 

Acting as curator, Arkitip has chosen artist Jason Jägel to design a women's capsule collection for DC Shoes. Jason Jägel was born in 1971 in Boston, Massachusetts. He received degrees from California College of Arts and Crafts (BFA 1995) and Stanford University (MFA 2002). Jägel has been featured in numerous solo and group shows since 1995 including those in New York, Tokyo, Copenhagen, Milan, Barcelona, Los Angeles, Seattle, New Orleans and more. Jagel's work appears in the collections of The Museum of Modern Art, The San Francisco

On Saturday Jelle van Gorkom announced that he was going to win the World Cup race in Papendal the next day. He did. It was his first World Cup win too. How's that for confidence? We caught up with Jelle to see how he felt after the race.

Congrats on your supercross win in Papendal. Your first World Cup victory?
Jelle van Gorkom: Thanks Bart, yes its my first World Cup win, and in front of my family & friends makes it my best win so far!

Did you do any special preparation for this race?
Jelle van Gorkom: Not really, we did what we always do before a World Cup. The only difference I noticed with the stands and VIP area is that the track is easier cause it blocks the wind better then without!

It rained hard on Saturday when you guys were supposed to have practice. Would a wet race be better for you since
