The Scholarship Committee at USA BMX announced today that $27,000 is being awarded to twenty individual recipients. "We had a number of strong candidates and the applications we received were all very good", said BA Anderson, CEO of USA BMX. "We are pleased to award 20 deserving individuals who have dedicated themselves in the classroom as well as on the BMX track", continued Anderson.

The Bob Warnicke Memorial Scholarship Fund was created to assist students and their families in meeting the costs of undergraduate college education, trade school, etc. USA BMX/BMX Canada members who have a current USA BMX/BMX Canada license or Track Operators/Officials who participate in BMX racing events sanctioned by USA BMX/BMX Canada were eligible to apply.

The following individuals have been awarded a Bob Warnicke Scholarship for the upcoming academic year:

First Name, Last Name, Amount, Age, State.

Infaction is a company based in Germany specialised in BMX camps. They've got camps going on all year where the riders stay together, eat together and ride together. The best spots are being visited with the vans they've got available. New tricks can be learned as each group will have a BMX teacher with them who can show how it's done. Although the main focus is on riders between 8 and 25 years old, it is not completely limited to that age to be part of a BMX camp. Infaction puts on camps in several different areas in Germany and there's even a summer camp in France!

The X-Games have been a big comp on the BMX freestyle calendar for many years. With the Dew Tour going back to basically two stops for BMX, the importance of the X-Games are way up there. It's a way for the invited riders to try to make a living off of BMX because X-Games means TV and TV means sponsor deals. Paid sponsor deals. The courses for park and street have been released and look challenging. The best riders in the world will have some fun at the end of the month. Check one-two.

A bit ago I had the opportunity to visit the Suzuki Factory workshop over in Belgium. They run the MX1 and MX2 teams from there. I was amazed by the size of the building. They had a huge one for the MX1 team and an enormous hall for the MX2 team. The workshop itself was fully equipped with all the tools you can think of. It was clean and looked so pro. Complete works engines were sitting on the shelves like they were packages of extra toilet paper. We got to walk around for a bit and snapped some photos for you to enjoy. Welcome to the real deal.
