While Erik Elstan and Jeff Dowhen where in Long Beach working on the new Madera video they had a free day so we dropped the pin and hit the streets. We landed on an industrial area in Carson, where Madera team mates Mike Stahl and Tom Villarreal eventually met up with us and we rode a lot of cool stuff and ran into some interesting situations along the way.
Our new NIGHTSHIFT frames are available now. This frame is 41-Thermal Heat Treated, carries a Lifetime Warranty and features classic Sunday details such as hollow dropouts with built in chain tensioners and much more. Choose from Matte Black or Erik Elstran's signature Emerald Green version.
We've enlisted the help of Erik Elstran and a dragon for Erik's new signature 2019 EX complete. The results include our first ever lavender bike, tons of fun, and stock parts such as Seeley grips, our Freeze stem, Odyssey pedals and tires, sealed hubs and more.
Madera Memo #27: How To Saran Wrap with Erik Elstran “...A Saran Wrap is essentially a Candy Bar that you unwrap.” Yup. All you need to know about doing Saran Wraps and using them in combos from Madera’s most creative rider: Erik Elstran.
When it comes to Erik Elstran's riding, the only thing you can expect is the unexpected—and that it'll be awesome. While on a recent trip to SoCal with the Madera team, Erik fired out five totally unorthodox clips at a very ordinary skate plaza.
It’s easy to see Erik Elstran is a free spirit. Take one look at whatever colorful and delightfully eccentric outfit he’s sporting at any given moment (that he probably sewed himself), and it’s pretty clear this guy isn’t trying to run with the herd. Watching him ride, it’s even easier to appreciate the breadth of Erik’s fertile imagination. Erik can do whatever he wants on his bike, and he chooses not to do what everyone else is doing. Erik could be a tech rail master or flat ledge god if he wished, stacking the usual tricks in new and innovative ways and linearly progressing BMX in standard increments, but he is destined for so much more.
"Wow. Just wow. I don't think I have ever felt so good about life in general after watching a BMX edit. Erik Elstran is infectiously happy in real life and this edit (done by the man himself) does an incredible job of conveying that happy and positive vibe that he emits. Yes, the editing is top-notch, but the riding is also out of the world. There are certainly a pile of "never-been-done" tricks in here as well as some serious bangers." —Mike Hinkens
