BMX is the core pillar upon which the iconic GT brand’s 50-year legacy was built, and it has been exciting to watch this important part of our business evolve over the years. Since joining GT in 2014, Ben Ward, GT BMX Product Manager, has created an impressive range of race, freestyle, heritage and crossover bikes as well as complimentary parts and accessories assortment that have been very well received by riders and in all retail channels. The brand is committed to supporting our growing collective of shops and riders and in doing so, the GT Global Marketing team is growing as well. Today, we are proud to share that Jeff Zielinski, BMX industry legend, and all around great human, will be officially joining the GT family as BMX Team Manager and Content Producer.
For those of you whom have not yet had the privilege to meet Jeff, we thought it would make sense to hear from Jeff himself:
GT Bicycles, a premium brand of Dorel Industries, Inc. (TSX: DII.B, DII.A), today announced that Jeff Zielinski, a legendary photographer on the Freestyle BMX scene for 20 years, has joined the GT BMX Freestyle crew as Team Manager. As Team Manager, Jeff will take charge of growing the GT Freestyle BMX program and keeping stoke and motivation high among the team. He will collaborate with the athletes including Brian Kachinsky, Albert Mercado, Dan Conway, Jeff “With Glasses” Ludwig, Leandro Moreira, Tate Roskelley, and Rob Wise to develop unique and interesting content, events and more.
“I’ve had the pleasure to work extensively with the GT BMX team for the last five years and I couldn’t feel more at home traveling, riding, and shooting photos with any other crew in BMX,” said Zielinski.
Ride's Jeff Zielinski has been producing content out of his tried and true vintage Volvo for years. You never know who he may be rolling with and it was only a matter of time before we got a camera in there to capture all the conversations while driving from spot to spot. For our first episode of In The Volvo we meet up with Ryan Jordan. Many miles were covered along with plenty of BMX history.
