Today was a good day. I went to the Helm Trails in Helmond and a lot of riders showed up. Many racers were there and a lot of them were kids so this is perfect for a little report for FATBMX Kids. The Helm Trails have a separate kids track and a table line so also the kids can have fun there. Everyone had a helmet on. The racers had those big ones. Their bikes were really light. Jarno Henraat made a new line in the kids section with some rollers and turns. We rode for a couple of hours. 
FATBMX Kids received a code and were asked to test a video game. Philip got to work(!?) and checked what Sidekick Cycle was all about. "In the beginning it was a tough game because you have to jump at the right moment. The second time it gets easier because you know where to jump and what buttons to use. The game is not very spectacular if you want to do tricks. The only trick I can do is backflips. The double loop is hard. You need to win points to buy the BMX clothing or a BMX bike. The graphics look cheap kind of but the game is rather cool anyway." 
Today we test the TSG Elbow and Knee pads. TSG makes lots of pads but these are the Slim VEP pads. They go under the clothing. I switched the little velcro band around that holds the plastic cap so the kneepad fit more comfortably. The plastic cap protects the technical foam. Crashing on purpose is not my thing and I have not crashed hard yet to give you the best test result. The knee pads are thin enough to go underneath your jeans without looking stupid. 
Last week I received a package from Nadja over at TSG. I was so happy. It had several products in the package for me to test. Today I test the helmet. This is the TSG Evolution Youth helmet. It is the little brother of the TSG Evolution. This colourway design is called the Trash. From the start it fit perfect. My head size is 53 and this helmet is for size 52-54. My other helmet moved up and down and I thought this was normal. The TSG helmet has a snug fit and I don't feel it on my head. I like it. The graphics on it are nice too. 
After doing a BMX 'zine for ten years (1987 - 1996) FATBMX made it on the internet. The year was 1998. Here to stay.
