USA BMX - the largest BMX racing organization in North America - announced today the 2021 schedule for the USA BMX Freestyle Amateur Series that will include both digital and live competitions. USA BMX Freestyle first announced the amateur series last July. With a condensed season, the organization successfully held a digital competition culminating with a live Nation- al Championships held in December 2020 at Camp Woodward in Pennsylvania.
Amateur riders from across the USA are invited to submit a 30-45-second video through USA BMX Freestyle Instagram using any indoor or outdoor park of their preference for their State (Digital) event competition run. Classes for male and female riders will include: 10 and Under Women, 10 and Under Men, 11-14 Women, 11-14 Men, 15+ Women, 15+ Men, Masters Men (Age 40+), Expert (Open). Each age class will have both a State year-end ranking and a National year-end ranking comprised of points earned from State (Digital), National and Grand Final events. 2020 has been a crazy year, to say the least. But this passed USA BMX held their first ever BMX freestyle amateur National Championships! Free Agent was there and we rode away with the top two spots on the podium!
Largest Action Sports Camp to Host First-Ever National Championships for BMX Amateurs; Series Organized by USA BMX Freestyle, Largest BMX Organization in North America. In August, USA BMX announced the debut of the USA BMX Freestyle Amateur Series launching a virtual, BMX amateur series. Amateur riders from 12 regions were invited to submit a 45-second video through USA BMX Freestyle Instagram using any indoor or outdoor park of their preference for their run. The deadline to submit videos was October 3. This week the top three riders in all classes from each region will advance to the first-ever National Championships. Woodward West will host the historic event December 11-13 in Tehachapi, Calif. With safety being the number one priority during this time, the intent is to have Woodward host the event in California. USA BMX will continue to monitor and follow the state’s COVID guidelines. Should the event not occur at Woodward West, the second location would be the Woodward located in State College, PA.
