BMX racing has become an Olympic sport. With only 48 spots open for the BMX community, it's good to know how to make it to the Olympics in 2008. In Beijing, there are a total of forty-eight (48) BMX start positions: thirty-two (32) for men and sixteen (16) for women. Olympic start positions are not guaranteed - they must be earned. The process described below was established by the UCI and is the same for every country.

It is important to understand that the Olympic Games represent a global ideal based on the world coming together once every four years to watch the best from every country compete.

Achim: I started a distribution company last year called fastpace bike distribution.

What exactly do you do?
Achim: BMX.

What brands do you carry and are you looking into carrying more brands in the future?
Achim: So far it's Hoffman Bikes and Colony. Colony product should be available later this summer. We are definitely looking into carrying more brands in the future. Really important to us is to have enough room to represent every company in a way they deserve.

Roseville, Ca., The ABA National held in Roseville recently was a great weekend of racing and one of the highlights was sidehack racing. Yep sidehack racing has had a resurgence into modern day BMX with riders looking to challenge themselves with the help of a "monkey" and a different bike setup. The sidehack race was 3 gates of racing to the tune of 9 groups entered to race.

For the first time the most important Italian sport event, the "Festival del Fitness", will give hospitality to a Bmx (Flat) contest. The Contest will have 4.000 euros of Prize-money, the biggest Prize-money ever had in Italy! The Bmx Flat Contest will start on Friday 26th (free practice) and the qualifications will take place on Saturday 27th in the morning.

Here's a quick look at the ABA TEAM DIVISION standing after the ABA Super Nationals in Desoto, TX. Some really good battles are starting to take shape and things are really heating up. The Love Metal Jam was officially of the chain! The turn out was amazing and the level of riding was something I don’t think will ever be witnessed at Falmouth skatepark again. Seriously hammers where being thrown down everywhere from everyone, all the riders definitely upped their game and the photos speak for themselves.
