Rebel Jam Dirt The normal dirt set-up usually consists of a few big sets with a big roll in. Not at the Rebel Jam. The permanent trails offered more than one line from the steep wooden starting hill. The rain on Friday made it sketchy if the dirt event could be run, but already on Saturday night people were flowing through the sections after the sun came out and the clay trails had dried up. The event was moved to Sunday regardless with amateur and pro qualifying and finals. Most amateurs chose the right line which started with a hip to the left and was followed by at least 7 doubles. Transfer lines were possible but most ams stayed on the straight line to the back. In pro this was a different story, especially when Hans Friedrich got to work. The Mellow Park employee had the lines down and went from the middle line all the way to the right and back through alleys that were barely visible. Hans won the creative award by multiple points and was stoked.

Miniramp contest Rebel Jam Berlin, Germany. Before the contest took place at the MellowPark, the kink got taken out of the ramp. This helped with the riding both in amateur and pro class. The ams had an important contest ahead of them with a free trip to the USA up for grabs including a week stay at Woodward Camp. This is every rider's dream that entered the mini contest and althought the contest happened on Saturday, the results weren't announced until Sunday afternoon. I bet non of the riders slept well on Saturday.

Non-medal events will include Freestyle Moto X, BMX, Skate and In-line Vert Ramp exhibitions.

-Paulie Lange is back to racing after breaking some ribs a few weeks ago, 2nd and a 3rd in Desoto, TX last weekend. Next up for Paulie is the ABA Worlds in Ontario, CA then leaving straight for France for the "real" UCI Worlds in France. Paulie is a AA Pro racer but like to ride the streets, today's pic is of Paulie hitting the streets of Sacramento with a crazy curved wall ride. The news that Ron Bonner sold UGP was hard to believe. Ron Bonner IS UGP and has been since he was 16 years old. Why sell now? Is he still going to be involved? Who are the new owners? What about the Roots jam? What's happening with the team? All questions that needed answers. Ron Bonner explains. Was it a difficult decission to sell UGP and why? The crazy thing is that I have been doing UGP since I was 16 years old everything that I have done for the past 18 years has been with UGP. I learned a ton about life with UGP. This decision opens up more time for me to explore other creative outlets that I might not of had time to try. Are the new guys into BMX? They love BMX. Chris McArdle over at HotWheels International in the UK sent us a photo of the Mongoose replica that is coming out at the end of this year. Only 500 asre made and the UK has ordered 150 of them. Andy Ruffell fans will be stoked to be able to ride the same bike as he did in the very early '80-s when he killed it on the BMX track. The Rebel Jam in Berlin started off with a tourist tour through the city. Two double decker buses were hired to show the riders, sponsors and media what the city was all about. This is a great idea as we only get to see the venue, the hotel, the airport and a bar or two at 90% of the contests. It was raining cats and dogs when the buses showed up. When everyone rushed in the bus to grab a seat, the windows fogged up. With a closed roof (that was leaking left and right), heavy rain outside and steamed up windows the conditions weren't great for the tourist trip. And then 4 cases of beer turned up in every bus.
