We received issue # three in the FATBMX mailbox and it has a racer on the cover. Don't be fooled though because this AA Pro racer knows how to do X-up flips, tailwhips and he cranks turndowns and lookbacks at the local Vegas concrete parks. It's Schwinn's Nate Berkheimer who also has the pro interview inside. For the old dogs, Twenty brings a story on the Joe Kid premiere in Hollywood (home of the editor). There's a big feature on the PIG contest that only seemed to take place a few weeks ago. Flatlander Justin Miller is a force to be reckoned with. Page 40/41 shows you what he's all about. The magazine seems to cover what other mags don't so it's no surprise to find an interview with Holland's one and only AA pro Robert de Wilde on p. 44.

UselessID : "Redemption" Twelve "new" songs of this band from Israel, they recorded this album with Bill Stevenson in Colorado from March 7 till April 3rd 2004 and will be ready for the recordstores July 12th 2005. Why it took so long I can't tell you, Bill is a busy man and UselessID is working doing a lot of shows so that might be the reason. Redemption is a bit slower than previous UselessID Albums and I have to say it is not my style, hope the next album will be the "Old" UselessID. I give this a 3*** rate. The people over in Prague have been working their asses off the last couple of months to get things ready for the Nokia BMX Freestyle Worlds 2005. The event will start off this Thursday June 2nd. A director of JUICYVISION.com, Hajime Yamazaki and a photographer of Cream magazine, Yasuyuki "GreenG" Takeo just released their first photo book titled; "SENN Project Vol.1". They said "The concept is "producing an art culture from BMX". It took about a year to correct all shots that were taken all over the world. But we don't stick with the idea of photo book, and we always open to any chances to collaborate with an artist in the different field. That's why it's called "Project". " 12 photos along with 2 pages captions for each photographer are inside of a 12-inch record jacket, that expresses the importance of the relation between BMX and music. Each copy has a serial sticker on it, and limited to 1000 copies.

At the old Bicycle Stunt Contests there was an unwrtten vert rule that if you could walk away from the contest, you didn't try hard enough! All riders were hucking themselves in positions that were hopeless but it all contributed to the level of vert riding. With foam pits and resi sections around, the hucking is saved for the foam, not the wood. Foam free rider Simon Tabron organized a vert jam at his local ramp which resembles of the old B.S. contests. No foam, different vert classes, loads of fun and most riders getting injured. We checked in with Simon to see how the Spin Like Hell jam went. FATBMX: With Vert being Dead, it seems like there are a lot of halfpipe jams/shows/contests going on in 2005. What made you decide to have your own event?

UCI BMX NEWS MAILING 2005 UCI BMX Supercross World Cup – Aigle Switzerland The 1st round of the highly anticipated 2005 UCI BMX Supercross World Cup in Aigle, Switzerland is only a few weeks away. The 1st round will be held at the UCI/World Cycling Centre BMX track, and although it has a traditional layout the highly technical track will be further modified. The UCI track builders Tom Ritzenthaler and Mark Hildebrand will fine-tune the track in the week leading up the event, promising an exciting track purpose build for the best BMX riders in the world. Not only will there be some exiting races on the BMX track, some of the best BMX freestyle vert riders such as Jamie Bestwick (2003 X-Games gold) and Jay Miron (9-time X-Games medalist) will make a special appearance on one of Europe’s biggest vert ramps (situated inside the velodrome complex). The event will be widely broadcasted on TV, including Eurosport, Europe’s leading sports channel (reaching 54 countries and 250 million viewers).
