There are a few busy few weekends coming up...with X-Games 16 almost wrapped up, Maloof Money Cup throwing cash around like it's water and the Nike 6.0/Converse/Hurley Us Open of Surfing circus is in town as well, Summer has officially kicked off. Let's start with the X-Games 16 BMX Park finals. I can't remember BMX park starting at 11:00 am in the morning last year, but it is my favorite part of the X-Games. The competition was stiff but no one was able to go bigger or better than Chad Kagy who laid down a perfect run to take the gold medal during BMX Freestyle Big Air Finals during X Games 16 at The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum Saturday night. Kagy laid out a massive backflip tailwhip to flare whip in one run to clinch his second X Games gold in BMX Freestyle Big Air. "It was nice to be able to go out and land my first run. It was good motivation because being able to land that first run and getting it under your belt means that you can build on top of that," said Kagy.
However, Kagy took nothing for granted as he executed a superman back flip and a superman to double tailwhip, knowing that any of the night's competition could land a solid run and take his spot.

Venezuelan native Daniel Dhers reclaimed his third gold medal in the BMX Freestyle Park Final as he pulled out his patented flairs and tight tricks consistently in his four runs. After Rob Darden dropped out last evening, Dennis Enarson suddenly found himself back in the mix to win the silver, his first X Games medal. "In practice, I was doing more lines and not so many tricks," said Dhers. "I felt like I was packing too much into it so I chose to focus on doing more tricks for the Final.
