The 2012 Redline Cup Series qualifying began in January in the east region at Thrifty Acres Indoor BMX in Greenville, Michigan. Since that opening qualifier, eleven of the 76 regional qualifying races have been held. The qualifying series features races in the east, central, and west regions of the United States and Canada. Qualifying for the finals will conclude at Grand Valley BMX in Grand Junction, Colorado, August 25. With the qualifying series spanning over 8 months and featuring 24 qualifying races in the central region, 27 qualifying races in the east region, and 25 races in the west region, this 76 race regional series is sure to have a qualifying race near you. 

Recently a UCI BMX race was held in HongKong split up in a category 3 and category 4 UCI Points race. Find the results below starting with the HongKong race (cat 4), followed by the Asian BMX race championships (cat 3):

Chain Reaction Cycles have been announced as the official retail partner of the 2012 UCI BMX World Championships, which take place in Birmingham, England, from 24th to 27th May. The BMX World Championships will see the world’s best BMX riders go head to head as 2000 riders from 40 countries compete for world titles and vital Olympic qualification points in what promises to be a spectacular four days of competition. Winning both days in Hong Kong after my injury, which is still not 100% recovered was a big surprise for me… Last weekend I raced the Asian Championships in Hong Kong. Together with my teammate Jelle, I decided to go there because it would be my first and last change to ride an international race before the first UCI World Cup In Chula Vista, USA.

The races in Hong Kong were also important to get some extra points for our country, because Saturday was a category 3

Last time you scared yourself jumping a big double: You know what, it has been too long! I really need to get out and scare myself. Nothing like beating that fear! I think the last time was racing in Papendal in that crazy wind jumping those jumps.

Last indoor race you liked: Lyon, France that was one of the best indoor races ever! Of course it helps cause I won. Or the ABA Grands, that is always a good race.

Last stupid idea you had: I am naturally blonde so those do happen every now and then. Last one is hard to remember, nothing special comes to mind.

After news was released that we were searching for an assistant race director and coach we received resumes from many highly qualified applicants, but when 4 time ABA title winner Danny Caluag's landed in our inbox we knew things were going to be great!

OHIO DREAMS BMX CAMP

Over the past week Canberra has been experiencing some of the worst flooding that I have seen in my lifetime which unfortunately meant that the perfectly groomed Melba BMX track turned into a mud pit for racing. Friday's UCI round was postponed to Saturday so two rounds were squeezed into Saturday. An early 5:30 am wake up call was unusual for a BMX race weekend although it turned out lucky as BMX Australia were able to get one UCI National round in before the rain came down and round 2 was cancelled due to bad weather.

Registration is now open for the first round of the 2012 UCI BMX Supercross World Cup which is scheduled for March 30-31 in Chula Vista, Calif. Registration is available online for all championship class riders with an active USA Cycling BMX license and closes at 5 p.m. MT on March 19. The first of four races in the 2012 UCI BMX Supercross World Cup series, the event at the U.S. Olympic Training Center just south of San Diego, Calif. is the third world cup event to count into the 2011-12 UCI BMX ranking season. Future stops on the 2012 UCI Supercross World Cup circuit include Randaberg, Norway, April 13-14; Papendal, Netherlands, May 12-13 and Abbotsford, Canada, Sept. 14-15.

The Chula Vista Supercross event is open to all elite and junior-level riders holding an USA Cycling BMX international license and riders must be born from 1995 or earlier to be eligible to enter the race.
