Last year the Ghetto Games Festival in Ventspils, Latvia successfully laid the groundwork for an annual alternative sports and culture event. Already in its first year it was one of the largest street culture and sports events held in Eastern Europe. This year the „Ghetto Games festival” will be held for 4 days (August 8-11) and it is estimated that 1500 athletes from 20 countries world wide will be brought together by 20 different sports activities.

For 2013 we have planned a special BMX program hosted by one of the most profound BMX lovers out there – Catfish himself. All riders are welcome to come visit Latvia, experience the open-air festival as well as participate in the skatepark and trails competitions. This week the Monster Energy team is ready for action as X Games Munich 2013 gets underway with four days of competition from Thursday, June 27 through Sunday, June 30. The athletes will compete across skateboarding, BMX, mountain bike, rally, and moto disciplines—don’t miss Monster Energy’s exclusive updates straight from Germany. Truly a global endeavor for the first time, this year X Games is a total of six events all over the world. Winter events in Aspen and Tignes have already gone off, as well as X Games Foz Do Iguaçu and X Games Barcelona. The tour hits Munich, Germany before wrapping up in Los Angeles, Calif.

In BMX Big Air, look out for Vince Byron, looking to back up and improve on the Silver he earned in Barcelona. He’ll be joined by teammate Andy Buckworth in the event.

Tickets are now on sale for X Games Los Angeles – celebrating its 11th consecutive and final year in Southern California – available for purchase at axs.com/xgames and the box offices at STAPLES Center and Irwindale Event Center. X Games Los Angeles takes place August 1 – 4 with more than 200 of the world’s premiere action sports athletes in competition. Tickets start at $10 for events at L.A. Ready for the most relaxed BMX jam in the Netherlands? The Chill&Grill BMX Jam at the Oldskool Snakerun in Oldenzaal is in the middle of a huge recreation area. In the center of the park is the oldest skatepark of the Netherlands, surrounded by a huge swimming pond with beaches. At the famous snakerun you can flow your bike until sunset at the longest day of the year. So pack your BMX bike, BBQ, wife, kids, some meat and drinks and join us. We will take care of some chill beats with Guus’ Carrier Tricycle Mobile Drive-In!

It was a surprise last year that Catfish showed up to announce the Middle of the Berm dirt jam in The Hague, Netherlands. The spot is hidden in some bush and starts on top with a smaller line that leads to the bottom where a giant set op doubles is awating the dare devils. Some skills and balls are required to be able to jump the complete line but even jumping part of it, or riding the pump track next to it, will get you your BMX fix for the day.

On Saturday 22 June next, the Berm in the Middle jam will take place once again. BMX and MTB. Separate contests, but riding together for the rest of the day. The trails are located at the Haringkade and starts at noon. There's a 700 Euro purse for BMX and a GoPro Best Trick contest as well. And of course there is an afterparty, but not at the trails. DJ Boehmer and DJ Winchester will start playing tunes at HART BEACH Scheveningen at 18:00hr.
