This week Monster Energy’s team of world-class athletes converge in Brazil for the first-ever X Games Foz Do Iguaçu 2013. A total of 28 Monster Energy athletes have earned coveted invites to the historic event, which gets underway Thursday, April 18 and runs through Sunday, April 21. This year X Games has goneglobal, with a total of six events all over the world. Winter events in Aspen and Tignes have already gone off, and the traditional summer events are now slated for Foz Do Iguaçu, Brazil; Barcelona, Spain; Munich, Germany; and the usual LosAngeles Calif. in 2013.

50 Cent Among Featured Music Performers at X Games Barcelona 2013 EDM Phenom Zedd and NACH also to Perform at Inaugural European X Games Event on May 18. X Games Barcelona 2013 in May will include an array of top musical performers at X Games Music, the new special concert series accompanying the X Games global expansion events, featuring multi-platinum recording artist and entrepreneur 50 Cent. He will be joined on Saturday, May 18 at 9 p.m. CET by EDM producer/DJ/songwriter Zedd and NACH, one of Spain’s best-known rappers.

To enter you simply need to submit a 60 second video of yourself pulling off your best moves and register on redbullphenom.com between April 8th to June 17th. The videos will then be judged on talent, performance and style by BMX icon Mike Escamilla, the man who even backflipped a helicopter once. The six best BMX street ‘phenoms’ will receive a once-in-a-lifetime all-expenses paid trip to X Games Los Angeles, Calif. Pro BMX street rider and X-Games medalist, Brian Kachinsky, is set to open a new invite-only BMX facility called, “The Bakery”, in Lacuna Artist Lofts. The Bakery is a one-of-a-kind, private, invite only facility for BMX riders and is located in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood. The Bakery Grand Opening will take place on April 10, 2013 from 6PM to 9PM at Lacuna Artist Lofts located at 2150 S. Canalport, Chicago. Kachinsky, in conjunction with Lacuna Artist Lofts, will host a grand opening and the unveiling of the new Bakery facility. A DK Bike and a signed photo will be raffled off, of which all proceeds will go to the Athlete Recovery Fund Charity (ARF). The ARF provides charitable medical and educational assistance to professional athletes who participate in Freestyle BMX, FMX and Skate. Throughout the event, guests will be able to preview a never before seen video of The Bakery. This video will chronicle its inception through to the final completion, which now resides at Lacuna. DJ Mattboywhite will be providing the musical styling for the event, as well as, tracks from previous Bakery productions.

Sheep Hills has been around forever. The first time I visited the spot was years ago. 1992 I believe. It's been in the news and on the scene ever since. Several generations of riders have maintained the jumps and built some new lines to keep the place going. It's worth an annual visit just to see how the place is doing and if we're lucky some riding gets done. Last fall one of the Sheep Hills Locals by the name of Mike "Boozer" Brown crashed in a BMX race in Reno and broke his back which has landed him in a wheelchair. Mike has spent more time at Sheep Hills than most of us digging, riding and something that has to do with his nickname.

On 7 April we're going to get together at Sheep Hills for the Boozer Jam. Mike will be there and so will the Sheep Hills Locals, current Pro racers, the BMX media, BMX friends and family, current dirt jump pro riders and old school BMX-ers.
