Alli Sports, a division of the NBC Sports Group, today announced iON Worldwide as the official camera partner of the 2012 Dew Tour. iON Worldwide, a global consumer electronics company, completes the Dew Tour’s roster of blue-chip partners entitling the iON Mountain Championships, held Dec 13-16 in Breckenridge, CO.

After stops in Germany, Portugal and the Netherlands, the Rebeljam has landed in Spain for 2012. Park, street, dirt and flatland riders from all over the world are expected to make the trek to Eurocamp in Tossa de Mar, on the weekend of 5-7 October. By riders, for riders is the motto of the Vans Rebeljam. Making the riding scene healthier afterwards is a good bonus. This year Axel Jurgens’ ramp facility at Eurocamp will receive an overhaul for the event and the added constructions will stay after the event. With plenty of camping and hotel facilities in walking distance from the ramps and the beach just 300 meters away, the venue is next perfect.

“The event is open for pro riders only, but there is no special invite needed,” says organiser Andy Zeiss. “Moving the event to Spain for 2012 at Axel’s amazing park we’re expecting a good turn-out. It’s just an hour north of Barcelona and has a private beach. We're ready for some good times.”

This year the show will commence on Thursday, September 20 at The Venetian Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas during the second evening of Interbike, the largest bicycle industry trade show in North America.

The TransWorld Ride BMX NORA Cup recognizes the industry’s top riders and films, honoring BMX’s “number ones” in eight categories, including: Dirt, Flatland, Street, Race, Ramp, Best Video Part, Video of the Year, and Readers’ Choice. The winners will be chosen by the pros themselves, with Ride BMX readers voting for the inaugural Readers’ Choice Award. Sponsors for this year’s event include Red Bull, DC Shoes, Haro, Dan’s Comp, Eclat, and Interbike.

Pieter Possenier & Heidi Tiebergynare are trying to get a free and public indoor skatepark build in the city of Kortrijk. The normal way is to go ask the policy makers and ask for it, and then wait for 5 years. Pieter has done this before, and it worked but this time they are going to do it better, instead of going to the policy makers, Heidi and Pieter want to become one. That way they don't need to ask, but can decide to get an indoor skatepark. Here's the plan according to Pieter: "Here in Belgium you have to go vote from when you are 18 years old (you get a fine of 150€ if you don't). The thing is that most party's don't have young people on their list, and thus don't have a agenda for them. By speaking directly to all skaters, bmx'ers and general youth we have a good chance to get elected, and even if we don't, this is going to put the indoor skatepark on the politic agenda, and thus have a good chance that we will actually get it."

The Crane helmet is developed with the freeride cyclist in mind, in need for great ventilation and low weight. The challenge has been to meet these demands while promoting durability and dent resistance, as there is often a contradiction between these qualities. Using an EPS sandwich construction combining one softer and one stiffer density keeps the weight low and increases energy absorbing properties. The outer stiffer liner together with the vacuum formed thicker shell (still extremely thin at 1 mm) makes it 50 % more resistant to dents, compared to normal in-mold helmets.

Final qualifiers for the $25,000 LXVI BMX Invitational presented by Vans were set today at the ECSC Beach Festival in Virginia Beach. Dominated by young riders Pat Casey, 18, and Daniel Sandoval, 18, the qualifying round concluded with exceptional no-handed tail whips, truck drivers and an incredible bar spin 180 from third place rider Gary Young. The finals for this triple box jump contest begin Saturday, August 25th at noon at the ECSC Beach Festival in Virginia Beach, VA.
