DISCOVER WHAT IS ON THE BMX PROGRAM FOR THE FWS CHENGDU STOP: 2017 UCI BMX Freestyle Park World Cup final round. One day left before the FWS Chinese stop, in Nan Hu Park - Chengdu. FISE Chengdu is going to see the riders' final attempts to smash the overall rankings. ESPN, the leading action sports content provider and creator of the X Games, in collaboration with Seven West Media, Australia’s number one audience company, will bring X Games Sydney to Australia next year, October 19-21, 2018. X Games Sydney will feature Skateboard, BMX and Moto X competitions at Sydney Olympic Park. For the first time in the event’s more than 20 year history, an X Games event will take place in Australia, home to some of the world’s best action sports athletes. Australian athletes hold 138 medals, 45 of which are gold from X Games summer and winter events.

UCI BMX FREESTYLE PARK WORLD CUP - WOMEN

Australia's BMX Freestylers set to contest the inaugural UCI Urban World Championships in China in November, their first stop on their journey towards the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. In June 2017, the IOC announced that BMX Freestyle Park would be added to the Programme of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. 

BMX Freestyle Park is an exhilarating discipline of cycling which takes place in parks full of ramps with big transitions and large obstacles.  Competitors are judged (scored between 0-100pts over two one-minute runs) on tricks performed throughout the course, with points awarded based on difficulty, originality, style and execution. 

Australia boasts two of the world's best, both considered to be serious medal contenders in Tokyo 2020.  Logan Martin, the 2016 UCI World Cup Series champion who sits fourth in 2017 after winning Stop 1 in the Series, and Brandon Loupos who is second overall in 2017 after taking out Stop 2. 

In their first jump towards Tokyo, riders will contest the 2017 UCI Urban Cycling World Championships this November 8-12 in Chengdu, China.  The Championships will see the world’s best will battle for the iconic rainbow jersey and the title of UCI World Champion in BMX Freestyle Park.

The Chinese stop of the FWS presented by Honor is coming up fast, and the city of Chengdu is getting ready to host the last stop of the 2017 FISE World Series, from November 3-5. After a high-intensity season, we are going to wrap things up in Nan Hu Park, in the heart of Sichuan’s capital city. Take a look below at the Freestyle Park, on which the UCI BMX Freestyle Park World Cup will take place.

With a start in Montpellier, then stopping in Budapest and Edmonton, the FISE World Series truly had a banging year so far. But we are not done: one last stop still needs to take place, and it will do so in Chengdu, China, from November 3-5. Sealing the deal for the 2017 season, the Chinese stop will unmistakeably push the riders to give their very best, in the hope of claiming a spot on the podium not only for the event but also for the overall FISE World Series rankings. So keep an eye on Nan Hu Park, in Chengdu: you wouldn't want to miss any of the action that will take place there.

Let’s end the season on the highest note for this 20 years of FISE celebration tour ! The fourth and last stopover of the FISE World Series in China and more exactly in the big town of Chengdu ! The 2017 international tour will end from November 3 to 5, 2017!

In line with the new voting system introduced this year to increase the number of members on the UCI Athletes’ Commission, applications are now open to candidates from the BMX Freestyle discipline. Elections for the representatives – one man and one woman for each discipline – will be held during the UCI Urban Cycling World Championships in Chengdu, China, from November 8 to 12. Under the new voting system, not only will the number of athletes on the UCI Athletes’ Commission increase, but there will be men-women parity across all disciplines. All representatives on the Commission will be elected for a term of four years, from the 2017 UCI Congress to the 2021 UCI Congress. To be eligible, candidates must be currently active in the sport or have retired within the last four years before the election date.

In a fast moving world we can sometimes get lost. With so much happening on the BMX Freestyle side in 2017 with multiple events happening on each weekend, it's nice to enter a quiet month. But 2017 isn't over yet and November has two bigger events happening with the UCI BMX Freestyle Park World Cup Finals taking place in Chengdu, China 3-5 November followed by the first UCI Urban Cycling World Championships in the same city (but different location) on 10-12 November. Daniel Dhers (VEN) and Hannah Roberts (USA) are leading the World Cup at the moment and will do everything within their power to do well and seal the deal in Chengdu on the first weekend of November.
