April 1st was not a Fools day, Paul's Boutique BMX organised a huge party for all friends and customers to thank for their support for the last 10 years.
People from all over the country and even Belgium and Germany showed up and were drinking one of the 1200 bottles of Bavaria beer or were BBQ-ing till late in the evening.
After several years at the NEC in Birmingham, the Bike Show moved down South a few miles to Coventry. Not knowing what to expect a strong group of riders made the trip and that includes American based riders such as Corey Bohan, Ryan Nyquist, Gary Young, Nasty, Ryan Guetler, Steve McCann, Jamie Bestwick, Scotty Cranmer, Alistair Whitton, Dave Dillewaard, Axel Jeurgens, Travis Collier and Tom Haugen.
The street course was a weird set-up. First of all the Braun Mini-Ramp was incorporated in the course and you could ride the spineramp during the street comp but it had its own contest too. With this ramp in the middle it did not leave much space for flow or lines. The ramps that were built were very slippery. Although a mix of RedBull and Coke was sprayed on the ramps, the dusty surface made sure people slid out every now and then and that includes photographers (Lard!?). The next

With the HARO UK tour/Bike Show and Paul's Paultique 10 years anniversay/mini FAT-JAM going on last weekend neither one of us could make it to the Joe Kid on a Stingray premiere in Hollywood. We're actually bummed to have missed this event and are looking forward to see the Bang Pictures movie on the history of BMX.

In a breath taking final, Australian Ryan Guettler wins the Braun Spine contest at the UK Bike Show to become the first leader of the Braun cruZer Tour ranking.Stoneleigh, UK â€“ 03 April 2005. 39 riders representing 11 nations gathered at the 2005 UK Bike Show for the first contest on the world’s largest mobile mini-ramp. The 250m2 ramp, designed by Peter Jandt and Stephan Prantl, features a 2m high (6.6 feet) spine which proved to be a challenge even to the very best, amongst whom Ryan Nyquist multiple X Games winner as well former world champion Dave Osato.
