The 2004 Kzoo BMX Jam went down this weekend in Kalamazoo, Michigan and it was a blast! Saturday night was a hot and heavy session from 6-midnight with dudes (and even a couple girls!) flying all over the park, both inside and out. It was seriously nuts outside for awhile with the Van Orman brothers (Beeler and Ted), Jeff Degryse, Project Pat and everyone else getting it done. There was even an appearance by a dude simply known as "The Legend", who tore up the park in a curiously wild style.

Each year, after the Worlds, the University of BMX releases the results of the "World Championship Quality Survey". A selective group of international people (riders, officials, organizers and guests) do give their opinion on the World Championship run that year (check out the enclosed overall historical overview).

No more pulling back or jumping the gate! Just the other day, I received a revolutionary idea from former cruiser World Champion, Teun Stam - Holland. Teun did sent in a reaction on my article "Opinion on the 2004 Worlds" more specific the section were I talk about the false starts I did see during this years Worlds (watch the TV pictures).

After a couple of years running the UCI - Supercross of BMX events at Woodward - USA, talk is that this year will be the last of these events. The real Supercross of BMX has been at the European Challenge Cup events at Slagharen - Holland. I named this event the Supercross of BMX. UCI started the Woodward event in order to replace the World Cup series, but in fact the results were even worse. It did not work.

A few week after the UCI-BMX World Championship 2004 in Valkenswaard - Holland, I want to give my opinion on this prestigious event, which was rated THE BEST EVER. (check out the WC statistics 1982 - 2004 and Press-release). Perfect in BMX in the field of organizing an event is impossible, but this came very close.

Nicely filmed with some extra Nature, Homeless people and security guards it’s a good mix of riding. Some parts are very fast so you have to see that in slow motion or watch it 5 times in a row but it is followed by nice rider parts from Brett McKown, Dan Darcy, Garrett Wilson, The Van Orman brothers, Dan Closser, Sergio Layos, Jeff DeGryse, 248, Nathon Fons and Steven Hamilton who showed here why he is picked up by different companies lately.

As being updated as you can, going from a heavy bike to a light bike, takes several purchases and with the amount of products out there, you most likely would like to see what you buy. In the past I really never had any problems ordering from a mail order catalog, the people on the phone are riders and have given me there most honest opinion yet (at least I hope). The product arrives on time, the only downside is that you receive stickers and a t-shirt you are probably going clean your bike with, rather then wearing it.

Since 2000, Roost BMX and VintageBMX.com have organized a gathering in conjunction with the ABA Midwest Nationals in Rockford Illinois. The Cobras Local 77 posse was rolling deep for the Rockford 04 adventure with a crew that consisted of the following: Phil Rase, Solan Foster, JR Broham, Sean Rakos and me, ST. We left nearly on schedule at 7-something Friday AM. We had a U Haul trailer full of bikes and an Expedition full of big dudes. I was the small guy of the trip at 5'11" and 195. JR was at the other end of the scale at 6'6" and proportionately weighing in. Everyone else is six foot plus. Lumberjacks?
