Name: Timmy Martin
Hometown: Northeast as a whole
Brand: SEKT clothing
A new clothing company. What made you decide to start SEKT?
Tim: I just moved back to the northeast from Austin. It was getting to be too much for me down there. When I got back, me and Doug Foulke just got to talking......a week later all the designs and ideas for what we wanted were done.
Who are all involved in the process of running the business, promotions, designs, etc.?
Tim: It's just me and Doug as far as the ideas and designs go. Kinda wanna keep it that way. AXELRAD is doing the printing for us, all those dudes are awesome and good friends of ours, so it's all in the family.
Where do you want to take SEKT clothing?
Tim: When me and Doug said we wanted to start a new one and actually take it seriously, I was into it right off the bat. He's had hands in RESIST and DEADMEMORY, and I've always wanted to start a company called FUNERAL but, we just wanted it to be fresh...not to just start something old back up again. When we get everything in full swing, we're gonna do fedora hats, jeans, button ups, scarves, blazers......hopefully shoes. An actual CLOTHING line.
What is important to you when you look for riders to ride for SEKT?
Tim: TABLES! hahaha, nah....I'm just a nazi about how people ride. I pay too close attention to all the little things, and I've wanted to assemble a team for as long as I could remember. Everyone on the team is exactly what I think, are the best at what they do....true STYLE CATS. Also chillers that have a good time on and off their bikes. You could be the best bike rider in the world, but if you can't have a good time not ridin....just not SEKT.
Can we say that SEKT has a strong interest in dirt/trail riding or would SEKT fit in everywhere in BMX?
Tim: Everyone on the team has direct roots in Dirt. That's why they're so good..hahaha. So yeah I'd say so. TRAILS
Are you selling art too? If yes in what form or shape?
Tim: We have 11"x17" posters and some paintings on canvas for sale. People will be able to buy stuff on sektclothing.com. Bike shops can contact ANIMAL. The G just put out a limited cassette and working on the next LP.
Where can people find out more about SEKT and where can they actually buy the clothing?
Tim: SEKTCLOTHING.COM check it on there and get SEKT.
