Neighborhood BMX?
Chad: On a daily, it’ll be Aaron and I for now. Eventually we’ll get some mechanics to help us. We’re getting advice from Amy, Moeller and others.
Has Long Beach ever had a BMX specific shop?
Chad: Not that I know of, kinda crazy, the scene here is big but no core shop.
You've probably seen the scene grow in the Long Beach area, do you count on the local scene or are you expecting visitors from out of town/state to come to your shop?
Chad: Yea, stoked on the growth, we’re into the community. We want the locals to have a center and it’d be cool for riders passing through to stop by here, everybody’s welcome.
Are you going to do mailorder out of your shop too?
Chad: We’re starting with local retail, we’ll see where that takes us.
Can anyone in the USA just open up a BMX shop or does it require special paperwork and permits to start a retail store?
Chad: Pretty much anyone with motivation to learn the steps can open a shop in the USA, but yea, there’s a lot of paperwork, licenses, permits, fees, etc. A lot of hoops to go through, it’s a challenge. We make the most of every new experience, stoked to be learning so much, so fast.
What brands have been cool with you and are supporting you all the way with the start of the new shop?
Chad: S&M, Fit, United, ODI, Revenge and Orchid to start, we hope to branch out and offer more also.
Will it have flatland specific parts?
Chad: For sure, we’ll keep all riders rollin’.
What are some of the promotions you plan on doing to spread the word about Neighorhood BMX?
Chad: We’re blogging and we’ll be hosting some local rides/jams and parties.
The shop is a work in progress. When you do think you'll be operational?
Chad: The first week of November is when we’d like to open the door then we’ll do an official grand opening in December.
Where can people contact you with any questions regarding the shop?
Chad: Visit NeighborhoodBMX.blogspot.com
