SUMMER CAMP STAFF NEEDED. It takes between 50 and 60 Staff members each summer to run our summer camp. We have almost filled up all of our positions however we are still in need of just a few more. If you want to spend six and a half amazing weeks making new friends, giving campers a summer to remember and of course full access to everything Ohio Dreams has to offer then we are the place for you this summer!

Each position pays between $100 - $150/wk and includes housing, all meals and all access.

We are in need of the following and will accept multiple applications through Wed. May 24 so act fast and use the link at the bottom of this email to apply.

Each of these positions is for June 7 - July 22

1 Lounge Staff - Must be 16+
1 Office Staff - Must be 18+

Positions and Descriptions

Sport Specific Instructor

Being an instructor at Ohio Dreams is probably the most important job we have. No matter what kind of experience we show our campers the rest of the time they are with us the first thing parents will ask is how was the instructor, did you learn a lot? If the answer from the camper is no we have failed at our responsibility. If you don’t have an eagerness to help kids learn than this is not a position for you.

You will be responsible for coaching campers, and must be able to relate to campers of all ages. Must be able to maintain a high level of energy and keep things fun throughout instruction and activity periods. Must be able to maintain the schedule created by Ohio Dreams.

Responsible for campers at all times of camper instruction, camper break periods and Camper free time.

Work with Junior Instructors to ensure a great camper experience.

Time Commitment:
BMX Race: June 7 - July 22
Scooter: June 7 - July 22
Ski: June 7 - July 22
Skateboard: June 18 - July 8
Snowboard: June 18 - July 1
BMX Freestyle: July 2 - July 22
Age Requirement: 18+
Weekend Duties: Instructors are required to perform Saturday Chores and are on schedule until after lunch. Instructors may leave property if they wish, but nobody under 18 is allowed to leave property with an instructor. Instructors are encouraged to join in the planned weekend activities.
Vehicle Restrictions: Instructors will be required to turn in vehicle keys and are required to be onsite at all times unless it is an “off weekend”
Rate: Year One $100/wk, Year Two $125/wk, Year 3 $150/wk
Additional Benefit: Instructors have access to full use of facilities during off time.

Instructors will be sent a training manual specific for their sport which will include a quick test. They must pass the test before their contract is considered to be active.

Instructors needed for: Skateboard - BMX Freestyle - BMX Race - Scooter - Ski - Snowboard

Adventure Camp Positions

The following two positions will instruct all aspects of Adventure Camp.

These Instructors are not overnight Counselors and will not have overnight duties.

Time Commitment: June 7 - July 22
Age Requirement: 18+ for paid Instructors. 16-17 for Junior Instructors.

All Sports Instructor

An All Sport Instructor must have enough knowledge of the following sports to be able to instruct them to campers who have potentially never done these sports. Ohio Dreams will provide additional training for each sport if you have at least a basic understanding of each sport. Ohio Dreams will also provide the Lesson Plans and the Class Structure for each.

Intro to Mountain Biking
Intro to Scootering
Intro to BMX Racing
Intro to BMX Freestyle

Outdoor Adventure Instructor

Outdoor Adventure Instructors will be responsible for the instruction of:
Archery
Hiking/Outdoor Education
Canoeing
Orienteering / Obstacle Course
Fishing

Counselor

Counselors are responsible for the health and well-being of Campers when Campers are not in instruction periods. This includes staying in the dorms with campers, overseeing general pool time, planning and participation in evening activities and walking with campers to and from the lodging/cafeteria side of camp from the sports side of camp.

Counselors do not have to be highly proficient in a sport that is offered by Ohio Dreams, however in their free time counselors have access to the best facilities in the world to perfect their trade.

Time Commitment: 6.5 weeks
Age Requirement: 18+
Weekend Duties: Counselors are required to work three out of 6 weekends with stay-over campers
Rate: Year One $100/wk, Year Two $125/wk, Year 3 $150/wk
Additional Benefit: Counselors have access to full use of facilities during off time.

Lifeguard

Description: Lifeguards are responsible for the safety and cleanliness of the pool area on weekdays along with Saturday Mornings and Sunday Afternoons in exchange for room and board and of course the ability to ride/skate during all free time at camp. Staff under the age of 18 may not leave camp except with parents or designated camp staff for a camp activity.

Time Commitment: 6.5 weeks
Age Requirement: 16+
Weekdays
Weekend Duties: Saturday Mornings and Sunday Afternoons. All staff who drives their own car to camp will be required to turn in vehicle keys and are required to be onsite at all times unless it is an “off day or weekend”
Rate: $150/wk
Additional Benefit: Full use of facilities during off time.

Lead Photographer

Photographers are responsible for capturing the excitment of camp in a single frame. They must be highly organized and proficient in all lighting situations. Photographers must be able to capture the context of the moment in each picture, not just camper. Photos will be used for purchase by campers families and for future media. Photographers are responsible for their own equipment.

Time Commitment: 6.5 weeks
Age Requirement: 16
Responsible for Photo Interns
Responsible for Website uploads and Social Media Posts
Minimum of 25 usable photos a day will be uploaded to the website.
Media Team will receive posting schedules and guidelines to be followed
Rate: $150/wk

Lead Video Media

Videographers are responsible for highlighting all the fun and excitement and editing it into videos that can be used for weekly updates, featured campers and future media use. You must be highly organized and capable of editing material quickly. Videographers / editors are responsible for their own equipment.

Time Commitment: 2-4 weeks
A Minimum of 2 - 15 second edits are required each day.
A 45 -60 Second Sport Highlight (commercial) video (7 videos) for each sport will be required to be completed by the end of the 5th week of camp.
Age Requirement: 16
Rate: $150/wk

Counter Staff

Counter staff works in the snackbar in the lounge for a 5.5.hr shift on weekdays along with Saturday Mornings and Sunday Afternoons. Counter Staff will be responsible for the sales, restocking, inventory and cleaning of the Lounge area..

Time Commitment: 6.5 weeks
Age Requirement: 18+
Weekend Duties: Saturday Mornings and Sunday Afternoons.
Rate: $100/week
Additional Benefit: Full use of facilities during off time.

Driver

The camp driver will be responsible for all airport runs and transportation of campers with minor injuries to the Urgent Care or Hospital. This is a job at Ohio Dreams that we take very seriously, you must have great people skills and be very organized and responsible. This position is ideally suited for someone that wishes to ride and/or train all summer as there will be large amounts of downtime.

Time Requirement: 6.5 weeks
Minimum age: 18
Valid driver’s license
Clean driving record
Driver will always use an Ohio Dreams Camp Vehicle.
Driver will live on site
Rate: $150/wk

Saturday Morning Airport Runs
Saturday Group Activities
Sunday Airport Runs
On call all week for injured campers
Must be within 15 minutes of office at all times
Must always give office the whereabouts of location in the chance cell service does not work

Unpaid Positions

Unpaid Positions at Ohio Dreams are a dream come true for any teenager involved in action sports. We have created a schedule that allows staff to exchange work each day in return for lodging, meals and the remainder of the day to have unlimited access to our facilities to train, practice, ride, ski or just hang out. This is the best way to experience Ohio Dreams and truly live your passion.

The minimum age for all Unpaid Positions at Ohio Dreams is 16. (although there may be a few exceptions made for highly responsible and motivated 15 year old previous campers)

Jr. Instructor

Junior Instructors are mostly hand picked from previous campers who have shown great levels of determination, progression and maturity. Junior Instructors are not paid but get to spend their entire summer learning the ins and outs of our programs and growing in a manner that will help them succeed in their sport and professional lives. Jr. Instructors are treated as campers with the increased responsibilities of assisting Instructors.

Jr. Instructor is a 2-3 week program depending on the sport.

Dirt Crew

Maintaining the grounds and dirt riding areas for a 5.5.hr shift on weekdays along with Saturay Mornings and Sunday Afternoons in exchange for room and board and of course the ability to ride/skate during all freetime at camp. Staff under the age of 18 may not leave camp except with parents or designated camp staff for a camp activity.

Time Commitment: 6.5 weeks
Age Requirement: 16+
Weekend Duties: Saturday Mornings and Sunday Afternoons.
Rate: Room and Board
Additional Benefit: Full use of facilities during off time.

Park Crew

Maintaining the cleanliness of the indoor park and lounge/office/bathroom area for a 5.5.hr shift on weekdays along with Saturday Mornings and Sunday Afternoons in exchange for room and board and of course the ability to ride/skate during all freetime at camp. Staff under the age of 18 may not leave camp except with parents or designated camp staff for a camp activity.

Time Commitment: 6.5 weeks
Age Requirement: 16+
Weekend Duties: Saturday Mornings and Sunday Afternoons.
Rate: Room and Board
Additional Benefit: Full use of facilities during off time

Mechanic

Mechanics work in the pro shop in the lounge for a 5.5.hr shift on weekdays along with Saturday Mornings and Sunday Afternoons in exchange for room and board and of course the ability to ride/skate during all freetime at camp. Mechanics will be maintaining and repairing high-end bicycles, scooters and skateboards. Staff under the age of 18 may not leave camp except with parents or designated camp staff for a camp activity.

Time Commitment: 6.5 weeks
Experience required: 1 year in bike or scooter shop.
Age Requirement: 16+
Weekend Duties: Saturday Mornings and Sunday Afternoons.
Rate: Room and Board
Additional Benefit: Full use of facilities during off time.
