Profile product: the face that's promoting it is the same face that is manufacturing it here in Florida.
-What new products are you bringing to Las Vegas that people need to check out? For Profile, we've got two new lines of color (Stems, hubs, sprockets): mint green and burnt orange (copper). Mulville has a top load trails stem that is now available called the "Push" which is available in 48 and 53mm and in all colors. Degroot and Mulville both have pivotal seat designs being displayed for pre-orders. And our vintage cranks and new, slimmed down CNC machined gas pedals will top things off...they will be available soon after the show. For Madera: Pivotal seats available for pre-orders (we're really stoked on the designs) and Dave McDermott will have a Madera v-2, limited collectors series art piece that will be available for pre-sale as well.
-Any special activities going on at the booth during the show? Mulville and Degroot will tell jokes. I will eat alot of burritos. Saavedra will be mellow. And John Ludwick will probably laugh the whole time.
-How many people are going to help out in your booth during the show? There will be four of us at all times: Mulville, Corey Alley (designer), Gus Lanzilotti (Race team manager), and myself. If you have any questions, please stop by.
-Are you actually taking orders at the show or is it more to show products to the dealers and get contacts? All of the above. We'll be doing pre-orders on all the pivotal seats as well as the Madera, McDermott v-2 design. And as usual, we'll be giving our dealers and distributors a discount for pre-ordering at the show.
-Are any of your riders coming to Interbike? Yes, definitely. That's always an important part of the show...getting together with the team and discussing product plans and travel ideas. John Ludwick will be there for Madera. Jeff K., Degroot, Mulville, Larry Alvarado, Chris Gille, Mike Saavedra, and Phil Aller will all be there with Profile.
-Would you think a contest at Interbike would be a good idea since loads of people (industry/riders/media) are there already? Yes, absolutely. Isn't that the deal with Euro-bike? It would definitely break up the monotony of the show and make things a bit more interesting.
-What party are you looking forward to? My 8am coffee party with Degroot every morning and the party that starts when my eyes shut to go to bed every night...I never thought standing on my feet and talking for ten hours would exhaust me as much as it has. I've taken my bike the past 6 years to ride every night, but it has become such a hassle that I'm going to pass this year. I'm actually going to check out Vegas for once.
-What would make the 2008 edition of Interbike a success for you? Meeting a bunch of new faces, making some new friends, and hoping to get positive feedback on everything we've done in 08' which always gets us motivated for the new year. Looking forward to it.
