Where can people find your booth?
Sparky¹s distribution booth, #4953
Why in the BMX zone?
Well tradeshows suck, so you might as well be around the people you hang out with anyways.
In general, what are the tough things to battle when developing new products?
Wanting to ride the product yesterday
Do you fancy going to Taiwan to follow up on the development process and to negotiate pricing?
I like working on new products with our factory and I really enjoy Taiwan. I don¹t like the negotiations side at all. But you have to take the good with the bad. But also the good thing is I don¹t do the negotiations any more that is Greg Lanthorne's job, big up GL!
Who are some of the riders that give good feedback on the products that make your life easier?
The entire team does at some point in the planning / testing stage.
Do you have secret product testers out there or do the team riders take care of that?
The entire Shadow Pro & Flow team will test all products. But we also have a local testing crew which is Rickey Bates, Ryan Flesch, Dude, The Columbian, and all of these dudes really wreck shit so you better believe testing goes down.
Big tires, big bars, slammed seats, small gearing and lightweight. What's next?
Front brakes.
How hard is it to come up with a colour for your products?
Man, harder than most would think.
Are you scared of the mandatory paint / colour testing or do you not worry about that yet?
We have already begun following all the rules so we are in in the right place, so in short not scared.
How important is price point for your products?
Well price is real important, BMX is expensive and if you really ride, you wreck shit and that will really cut into your party budget if parts are over priced. So we strive really hard to offer the quality and price that keeps your ride working the way you need it to and still leaves a few bucks in your pocket for the party.
Can you explain how hard it is to put an original idea into a final product?
Man I don¹t think we have enough space here, ha ha.
What is a 2010 product you designed that you are most proud of?
Well come on by Bart and I will show you and you can show the the Fat readers, Deal!
What's the worst design in BMX at the moment?
I'm not really into shit talking. The riders know what's real and what's not.
What do you think is a clever product?
Rubber grips, beats rocking napkins on your bars.
Why do people need to look into your brand?
Free Beer, Naked chicks, Hells yea!
