After the Bike Expo in Munich, the Eurobike show in Friedrichshafen and the Interbike show in Las Vegas, it gets less and less exciting to visit another show that displays the 2011 products, simply because you've seen it already, and probably 4 times at that. France had its show at the 2010 Roc d'Azur event and with a BMX race, a freestyle contest, 17.000 mountainbikers riding the XC loop and other cycling fans around, it was a good place to be at for the show. The interest was big and there were people in "the salon" from start to finish. Busy times for those who displayed their new products. On the BMX side SUNEX, Frenchies, USPRObikes and Redline were displaying the newest stuff from complete bikes to helmets to shoes, to BMX parts.

You're working on the opening of a BMX shop. How long has this been on your mind? Chad: It’s been something I’ve always wanted to do but would always just put the thoughts on a back burner. After Aaron and I met we realized we both wanted the same thing and recently he hit me up and said we got to do this now, I was in full agreement.

People make a lot of crazy things that they think is cool. Well, that's not always the case. At bicycle trade shows you usually end up seeing weird stuff, or things you did not expect at a bicycle trade show. This year in Vegas I decided to take a few pics instead of shaking my head and walk past. Most of the times I did both. At least they got my attention for a second, but that's not always a positive thing. The weird, the bad and the unexpected from Interbike 2010, right here.

You're married to "The Beard" who is the owner of Failure bikes so basically you've been surrounded by BMX for a long time. But you recently ended up working in the industry, can you explain how that went?
After visiting the Eurobike show in Germany we had a good feeling about the 2011 BMX bikes. Things looked on point but we traveled to the United States of America to see what's new over there. At the Interbike trade show we spotted a comeback of parts we thought had disappeared. We noted that the 1" stem was back. It all makes sense because you can just raise the bars to the height you like. Also the laidback seatpost made a return, simply because it gives you more comfort when you ride to the next spot. V-brakes on the front? hell yeah! These babies work and will get you in endo position without having to look for a curb. A low standover height on the frame gives you that extra benefit when doing cancans. We saw several of those new frames in the 2011 line. You've been sick of bending your wheels, right? Say welcome back 48 spoked wheels. We've gathered some pictures of the bikes that will be in the shops shortly. We even had to sneak in some booths to get the right photo. We're sure you haven't seen these pics in all the other online reports. Interbike 2011 was interesting to say the least.

Kathy: There is so much going on right now, and a lot of things in transition. I'm wrapping up the Levi's program for the year, consulting to a couple of different brands that are still looking for
Just wanted to let you all know that I will be leaving my three-year TM job at Redline Bicycles. Not because of any negative things at all; they have been absolutely great with me over my timespan there. I want to thank everyone at Redline HQ for the support, I will be making suggestions on who will be taking over the Redline TM position and taking care of a great and talented team. About three months ago I heard that there was an athlete manager position available at Red Bull for the Mountain South Business Unit, and I figured with the love I have for all the activities that Red Bull is involved with it was a perfect match for me to apply with Red Bull. I officially sent in my resume in September (not thinking anything would come out of it) until I received an interview. After about three months worth of interviews and lots of traveling back and forth to Dallas and Santa Monica, I am pleased to announce that I am officially the new MSBU Athlete Marketing Manager. I’m looking forward to working with Ben Garcia—Sports Marketing Manager and Jason Hines—Event Marketing Manager. When was the first time you got involved with BMX?
Tina: my history with BMX goes back a long way. My Uncle in Hawaii had a bike shop, and BMX was dead on the island back in the 80’s. So, he shipped a bunch of BMX parts to my mom for her to sell
