We asked some BMX companies what new products they are going to show at the upcoming Interbike Trade Show in Las Vegas. We will post their answers as they come in. First reply was fron Eastern Bikes'  Jon Byers.

-Have you decided to be part of the BMX zone this year and why? Yes, because it is where our dealers expect to see us AND each year it is getting a little better and more conducive for business.

-What new products are you bringing to Las Vegas that people need to check out? Where do I begin?

This year's Eurobike show had plenty of BMX to offer. Not only rider owned distributors like La Finca, Unity, Fastpace, Country Bikes, and Allride had all their new stuff on display but the bigger brands like Mongoose, Redline, GT, Haro, KHE, Felt, Eastern, wethepeople, SE, Free Agent, and Intense had their own booths on the biggest Eurobike show ever. Then there were brands that are a bit off the back like Univega, Raleigh, MBK, Author but it was still good to see they're playing the BMX game. 

Because of the great interest and demand for our project, deepbmx would like to release some more details. We are currently testing an exclusive new production technique for bmx frames. Our prototypes are not welded in Taiwan, they are 100% soldered in Germany. This new industry technology gives the final product a much cleaner, stylish look and allows us to closely monitor quality control. To ensure that this new technique meets our

When did you start making your own (FuS) pegs?
Thomas Göring: Around 17-18 years ago.

Were they made for flatland only or could you use them for different types of riding?
Thomas Göring: These pegs were good for Flat because of the side Steps and good for Grinding with the special shape in the middle.

When did you start making flatland specific parts?
Thomas Göring: I think since we started 20 years ago. But at this time many ramp riders also rode Flat, even the frames were used for both.

After two years of collecting potential host city data and retailer, manufacturer and industry partner feedback, Interbike management today announced the trade show will remain in Las Vegas, and that they are currently finalizing an agreement with the Sands Expo and Convention Center to host the industry's show for a minimum of three more years, beginning with the 2010 show.

"The decision to keep the Interbike show in Vegas comes after years of research and communication with our retailer attendees, exhibiting manufacturers and important industry partners," said Lance Camisasca, Interbike's industry consultant.

"The data and communication we have collected, along with industry recommendations from organizations like the National Bicycle Dealers Association (NBDA) and Bikes Belong, confirm our decision to keep the show in Las Vegas." 

What made you decided to start a BMX shop?
Peter Geys: Riding BMX since 1979 was a great experience for me and it was ruling my life all the time. I’m married now for almost 3 years with Elke and we have 2 beautiful kids, Britt and Cleo. We are having a great time together and the idea to start a BMX shop was simple. I could still do my passion by riding a bit and work with BMX. Elke helps me in the shop, she likes it too, so …

Interbike, producer of the International Bicycle Expo and OutDoor Demo trade only events, today announced individual retail buyer registration is up by 45 percent compared to the same time period last year (as of May 28). The number of pre-registered businesses is showing an even larger percentage increase of 55 percent compared to last year. The opening of retailer registration was formally announced on Interbike's Blog, InterbikeTimes.com, and by email to retailers on May 8.
