Vans, the original action sports brand and advocate for creative expression, is proud to welcome adaptive BMX rider Julian Molina to the Vans BMX team. Hailing from Andres, Colombia, Julian has been inspiring the world through BMX for years. At age 7, while riding a skateboard, Julian was hit by a bus sustaining a severe break to his leg. The injury worsened and as a matter of life or death, Julian’s leg had to be amputated. Years later, Julian discovered BMX, which turned his life around in the way of 360’s, flips and whips. His first bike was purchased with his own hard-earned money, saved from selling candy, and since then has become like a true extension of himself.
Becoming a part of the Vans family holds a deep meaning for Julian: “More than something monetary

Simple Session 21 will be back in Tallinn, Estonia, on August 20–21 with a big summertime festival and an all-around good time. This years’ event will be more exclusive as the tickets are limited and the venue will be more intimate and closer to the public than ever – the Simple Session series will host an exciting street contest in the hip up and coming Põhjala district – an old rubber factory turned into a cultural hub. Simple Session 21 will also be one of the first significant international events after the big Olympic debut for BMX and skateboarding in Tokyo. Sixty-four of the finest invited BMX street riders and skateboarders from all around the world will go head to head on a new 600m2 Nate Wessel-designed street course.
“I’m delighted that we can run the event at the youthful and vibrant Põhjala factory, make the Session during Estonian summertime and the riders and viewers will enjoy these sports as they were born. The global health crisis has prevented us from hosting the annual wintertime event, so we are happy now to host the Simple Session during the sunny side of the year,” says Risto Kalmre, the founder of Estonia’s biggest and world-renowned action sports event.
The event kicks off on the day of the Estonian Restoration of Independence on the 20th of August,
Vans, the original action sports footwear and apparel brand, is excited to unveil the Slip-On BMX by Dennis Enarson, a finely tuned offering that is just as versatile as the rider himself. Dennis Enarson’s diverse style demands a shoe that can do it all. Together with Vans, he applied his aesthetic to the Slip-On BMX, created specifically with BMXers in mind. The Slip-On BMX features Vans’ hybrid cupsole and vulcanized Wafflecup BMX technology, which provides unrivaled support and durability without compromising precious pedalfeel.
“From the beginning, I knew this shoe had to be something durable to shred in, yet fashionable enough to wear with your favorite outfit—and that’s exactly what we made,” Dennis said.

The best riders that the BMX sport brings to our attention can change from season to season, that we can admit. However, the all-time legends of the sport rarely change, but just get updated with one or two newcomers that have made a profound impact to the sport. Today, we will be revisiting those legends that have remained in the sports history books, long after their reign. Some of them actually helped mould the sport to what we see today. If you are intrigued to know more about the sport and keep up to date after the FISE World Montpellier, check out all the latest sports news today.
Mat Hoffman
The first of the biggest legends that this sport has to offer, is none other than Mat Hoffman. We genuinely cannot think of anyone else that deserves the top spot more than him. Mat is a 10-time world champion, with six medals from the X Games alongside the credit he has for inventing multiple forms of tricks that we see being demonstrated, he certainly deserves the spot and remains a role model to many youths participating today. Mat is able to perform a perfect 900 landing, in addition to a no handed 900 too!
The Guinness Book of World Records also mentions Hoffman for his 24-foot quarter pipe that he executed. During the year 2002, Hoffman managed to get an award from ESPN Action, the Sports Lifetime Achievement Award. Not many BMX riders can say that they have an award named after them, so this should justify enough how he is most deserving to be named as an all-time legend.
