This Saturday was the qualifying Men's and Women's round of the UCI 2024 BMX Freestyle Park & Flatland World Cup in Enoshima, Japan. Due to extreme weather conditions, the UCI BMX Freestyle Finals planned for tomorrow (Sunday), are unable to go ahead. Results from today's qualifying contests will be taken as final. In BMX Freestyle Park, Anthony JEANJEAN (FRA) and Hannah ROBERTS (USA) won the stage. In BMX Freestyle Flatland, it was the Japanese duo Yu KATAGIRI and Nina SUZUKI who took the win!

On February 21st, the town of Sakai (Ibaraki prefecture) inaugurated a custom-built park designed by Hurricane Parks, a brand of Hurricane Group (organizers of FISE) and used during the Olympic Games in Japan. This area will be available to amateur riders from April 1st and to professional athletes for training sessions ahead of international competitions.
It was at the 2024 UCI BMX Freestyle World Cup, held in Enoshima from 22 to 25 February, that the world's best riders took the opportunity to celebrate the inauguration of this new Park in Sakai. Among them was reigning Olympic champion Logan Martin, who had the occasion to rediscover his 2020 sensations on the Park that made him the first ever BMX Freestyle Olympic gold medalist.
