The year is 1994 and Chris Moeller decides to write down some random POW house happenings. Lots of things have changed since then. The POW house is no more, people have gone their own ways but the BMX link will always be there. Dave Clymer even showed up at the S&M party in good shape recently after crazy stories about the BMX icon had done their rounds. I dug into my old photos for some relevant pictures to with Chis Moeller's stories. Enjoy part one of the stories that have never been published. More to follow.

It’s been about five years since a couple of flannel-clad grungy bike riders smooth talked their way into a single-story Westminster, California house and subsequently created an international phenomenon and a big mess. To its countless

Carhartt came up with the idea to have one of their team riders invite three to five fellow team riders for a couple of days to show them his local spots. Perico was the first rider to invite some friends to Malaga and he showed them around. Arthur Dietrich, Stefan Lantschner and Paddy Gross were the riders that made it to the Spanish sunshine for Carhartt's VISIT MY TOWN stop number one. Paddy wrote a little story about it and the crisp photos come from Kay Clauberg. Expect a video soon.

Since the idea was born of „Visit my town“ I've been really excited about what's to come. Well, on February 1st Stefan Lantschner, Arthur Dietrich, Kay Clauberg and myself packed our bags to go and visit Perico in beautiful Malaga, Spain. The most of you may know that Malaga is the home of some dudes like Ruben Alcantara or Javier Ortega. So we've been even more excited to hang out with those guys and ride with them. 

After two successful editions of the BMX Contest for all rookie and amateur riders the third round of the Rookie Jam will be take place on April 5th 2008. All BMX beginners that never have participated at a contest and also those who have already contest experiences are invited to enter the contest. So there will be the following two classes: street rookies ann street amateurs. Starter fee will be 5 Euro. All riders will be provides with free drinks. The entrance for visitors is free. Please register on the webpage; rookie-jam.de. Besides fame and honor there will be also cool material prices to win.

Suzuki bike & skatepark: With its over 1000 squaremeters streetarea and the varied course with several obstacles like funbox, spine jumpbox, kinkedrail and different quaters or wallrides it will be the base for a nice Saturday.

Last but not least:

Here is another product that Flybikes came up with. It's their new low headset cup. It's 5mm. lower than the current one for those who want the bars lower or like big bars with a low stem. It's already on the way to the distributors. They will have it in the next weeks so go bug your local Fly dealer. The photo shows the low

Once again we thank everyone for his or her support through the beginning stages of this ordeal. Everything including donations, prayers, and get-well cards, has brought Mike's family much relief during these hard times.
We are also happy to report very good news. Since moving to a private room from ICU, two weeks ago, Mike has surpassed almost all predictions and projections of his recovery.

Maxime: The contest was good with good guys (riders and staff).

For the 5th year in a row the Roadstar BMX Jam is taking place in Berlin. It has become a tradition to offer an original program for the Berlin party crowd. The Skatehalle opens at noon so if you need time to warm up you better show up then. At 6pm the open jam starts followed by the Afterparty show featuring the She-Male Trouble band who will play their first gig since a year, supported by the Delikat punks. DJ's will take over after the live set and then it's time to party till you puke. Watch the 2007 Roadstar jam movie below:

The 4th Annual Flatland Voodoo Jam will be held in New Orleans on May 30th and 31st 2008. One of the additions this year will be a beginner class at the amateur contest on Friday the 30th at the City Park location. The pros will get to work on Saturday in the Generations Hall. The Voodoo jam is an official round of the Flatland World Circuit.
