them perfect ambassadors for our sport.”
Social impact by pushing boundaries
The European Championship BMX Freestyle 2025 not only wants to provide a sporting spectacle, but also encourage young people to push boundaries and take risks. This sport offers an excellent platform for a social program around the theme of 'pushing boundaries'. In BMX Freestyle it is essential to dare to take risks, for example when trying a new trick or taking a big jump. You not only have to dare to fall, but above all you have to have the courage to get up again. Only by continually pushing your limits can you continue to improve yourself. In the run-up to and during the event, social programs are therefore organized that focus on this theme.
Public private partnership
The European Championship BMX Freestyle 2025 is a joint effort by public and private parties, with support from, among others, the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport, BrabantSport, the municipality of Eindhoven and the province of North Brabant. Together they want to ensure a successful event that is more than just a championship: a meeting place for everyone with an affinity for sports, urban culture and social development.
Bas Maes, representative of Sport in North Brabant, explains: “The province of North Brabant sees top sport as a source of inspiration for recreational sport. Sport brings people together, inspires and strengthens them. Together with the municipality of Eindhoven and BrabantSport, we are happy to contribute to this special event.”
Eindhoven Sports Councilor Maes van Lanschot is also enthusiastic about the arrival of the European Championship: “Urban Sports is one of the strategic sports of Eindhoven. I'm thrilled that we can host this top event at Area 51. The top of BMX Freestyle promises spectacular stunt work and encourages young and old to get moving.”
About the European Championships BMX Freestyle
In and around Area 51, both men and women will compete in the Park and Flatland disciplines. While “Park” is all about jumps, flips and other tricks on a course with obstacles, the “Flatlanders” compete on an obstacle-free surface for the gold medal with technical tricks. In both disciplines, technique, control and creativity are central, and the performances are assessed by the jury on various criteria.
