Michael Beran won the RIDE IT Winterjam in Riga last weekend. The Czech put his box jumping skills to work and finished ahead of Italian Alessandro Barbero who is still recovering from a shoulder injury and was riding at 80%. That was good enough to show 3-whips on the box (both directions), a windshield wiper and a 3-double whip. England's Harry Main finished up the top three in Riga. 
A new contest series will take place in France this year. At the end of the competition the winner of the BMX series will drive home in a FIAT PANDA 4X4!!! Yes, a brand new one. Here are the contest dates:-23/24 February: Jam de Gregam

Two rounds of the 2008 King Of Ground flatland contest series have been announced. The date of the third round in October in Tokyo needs to be confirmed.-Round1: Yokohama April 6th
-Round2: Ishikawa, Komatsu July 20th
-Round3: ROX3 super multi court, Asakusa, Tokyo October.

The AST Dew Tour, the world’s premier season-long action sports tour, today announced its schedule for the 2008 season (June-October). In addition to returning to Portland, Ore. and Orlando for the fourth time, the Tour will stop in Baltimore, Cleveland and Salt Lake City for the second consecutive season.“We are very excited about returning to Portland and Orlando after three successful seasons, and are eager to bring the AST Dew Tour back to our newest host cities, Baltimore, Cleveland and Salt Lake City,” said Wade Martin, president of AST. “All five host cities have demonstrated great support of action sports and we know the fans will embrace the Tour in even greater numbers in 2008.”
