The AST Dew Tour, the world’s premier season-long action sports tour, today announced its pre-qualified athletes for the 2007 season. Athletes are pre-qualified for the 2007 AST Dew Tour’s first stop, the Panasonic Open, based on their rankings at the end of the 2006 AST Dew Tour season. Additionally 3-4 wild cards per discipline have been selected. Athletes who are not pre-qualified may compete as Open Qualifiers at the Panasonic Open and the Right Guard Open to earn a spot in the preliminary rounds. Well after 353245 late night hours the new Albes.com is up and running. For the most part it works pretty much the same it's just a way different look. While we were messing around under the hood we added a few cool features. One new feature is the ability to create "Wish Lists" of all your favorite products to save and / or e-mail to somebody you may be able to sucker into buying the stuff for you.

There have been some changes on the international Eastpak team for the next 07/08 season. We changed the team line up a bit to keep it fresh and also to provide some other younger talents a little support. Of course all of them fit perfectly to Eastpak and will extend the family even more. Be sure that all riders who we had to let go of the int. team are still family members and will get our support in any case. 

The European UCI BMX championships started off with the first two rounds being held at Habay-la-Neuve in Belgium. With only two riders making both mains in the Elite men class it shows that this class is wide open. Henrik Baltersen (Denmark) won on the first day while Free Agent's Thomas Allier (France) crossed the finish line in first on Sunday. In the Elite women class Shanaze Read and Laëtitia Le Corguille took a win each. It was hard to stay upright on the hard packed track with a layer of dust over it. Watch the Kemo movies to get a better impression on the first European (outdoor) championship race of the 2007 season.

In a prelude to the Olympic debut for BMX, racers from all over the Globe converged on Spain for the first UCi Supercross event of 2007. With a wild ‘n crazy track, similar in many ways to what you’ll see in Beijing, China next year, the BMX world came out in big numbers. Amongst those were the Dutch Redline team; led by the guy who is no stranger to UCi points–ROBERT De WILDE. Aboard their custom Orange REDLINE FLIGHT bikes, the Dutch riders made their presence known; with DeWilde going all the way to the big show. Also in the main event was REDLINE~FRANCE racer and National team member DAMIEN GODET. With two out of eight bikes in the gate being Redlines, the odds were in RL’s favor.

The NokiaFISE contest  is coming up shortly. Only a month to go before Montpellier will be swamped with BMX-ers. This year the Braun Spine ramp will be there and also the Red Bull King sized Vert ramp. Next to that there is Flatland, Dirt and of course Street/Park.  A few names that  are on the list are Dave Mirra , Daniel Dhers and Mike Spinner. Reason enough to  make the trip down to the sunny south.  The 11th edition of the FISE will be held downtown Montpellier, France. Look at the drawings to get a bit of an idea. 

Joey Cobbs, the one in the same who had a part in the On the Clock video is also a photographer. With 3 years of studying behind him and many ground ledges here is a showcase of some of his bmx related work. As well as bmx Joey likes to shoot bands and has filmed for quite a few of the bike videos out there today.

Brian Chace from Seattle has just released his video called Here and Now covering the Seattle scene. This project must have taken Brian a long time to finish because there is much attention to detail and a great finished product. The only folks that will be left wanting are the dirt riders since there are little or no trails riding. Thats made up for however by all the excellent street sections.

Paul Bonner or "Def Paul" as some people call him , has no drivetrain on his bike and the urge to fakie every 2 seconds. If you watch the video you will see the chainless style is catching on. Since he has no drive train you see him weave and pump all over the place giving him speed to pull fakie turndowns off a 3 set of stairs. A DJ Shadow track accompanies his part while he pulls fakie nose wheelies and manuals. 

The first round of the 3 series BMX Flatland World Series took place in Tokyo on Saturday.  Michael Steingraeber is the sole European in the top 20 on place 12. The comp was won by Yoshiki Uchino. Let's see how many Japanese riders will make it to the Voodoo jam in the USA and Flatground in The Netherlands to score points for the overall title.
