From July 21 to 23, the international elite of BMX freestylers will meet up for three days in the Cologne Youthpark to compete in Street, Miniramp, Vert, Flatland and Dirt disciplines. Again in 2006, girls can enter in the Flatland and Street disciplines.
Reserve this date on your 2006 calendar for the BMX Masters in Cologne, Germany. More info on the event can be found at:

To all other contest organizers, let's announce the 2006 dates right now so we don't have event clashes again like the one with the LG Action Sports finals in Manchester and the Etnies Backyard jam in Brighton this weekend. Send the dates to FATBMX and we'll put them up on the calendar.
The DICKIES BOWL PRO CONTEST 2005 was held in Marseille last weekend. Looks like Ben Manuel (UK) had some French company in the finals. Find results right here:

It is with great pleasure that I announce that Padded Cell Supplies Ltd. are now the new exclusive UK distributors of Redline BMX bikes.
Redline is a brand with its roots firmly intertwined with those of BMX itself and Padded Cell prides itself on it's commitment to and passion for BMX in all its forms. Redline has been largely missing from the UK market for a couple of years, but after talks at Interbike this year the deal was struck between Seattle Bike Supply and Padded Cell which will see the newly improved and revamped Redline bike range reintroduced to this country.
Redline have recently taken on a trio of riders, Mike Escamilla, Dustin Guenther and Rich Hirsch who have worked hard at improving and updating the bikes so that the entire range shows the quality of construction and design that Redline BMX race bikes have long been known for.
October, 2005 – Madison, Wis. – BMX Race Team Mongoose/Hyundai rider John Purse has broken THREE big records: Longest AA-Pro Career; Most Wins in a Single Season; and the biggie: Most Mains in a Lifetime.
Purse’s pro career spans an incredible 16 years. Now qualified to race Vet-Pro (though he still races AA-Pro in the ABA and Elite Men in the NBL), his 25 wins in a single season tops the charts and now, as the first rider in BMX history to break the 300-Mains barrier, (now at a whopping 308), John Purse has earned his pages in the history books.
“These records came to light at the ABA Grands last year,â€? said Purse. “I knew I had most wins in a single season (a record he set in 1998), but these others crept up on me. I’m close to the most winning rider in BMX history: I’ve got 71 total wins now, and the record held by former GT rider Gary Ellis is at 77, so that’s the next goal.â€?
If you want to get wasted cheap, go to the wethepeople video premiere in Cologne on 28 October. Beer is 1 Euro and the film they're going to show is the tour video from their trip to Poland. If you haven't read the tour story yet, read it here, to get in the mood. We'll leave Ruudje in OJA and there won't be a band playing at the same time so all focus can be on "Dogs in the Fog," which is the name of the video. That is unless you're drunk by that time from the 1 Euro beer. Find all info by enlarging the photo of the flyer.
BMX Business News is your complete source for news and information on the BMX market. We haven't received it for a while but we picked up the two latest issues at the Interbike show in Las Vegas. The trade mag is published by Transworld Magazine Corporation that also brings out a Surf/Skate/Snow version that we happen to receive. The September 05 issue of BNN has got the following features: The date of Interbike, HB Performance Systems Inc. (not Hoffman Bikes) acquires Sun Ringle, Interbike Q&A, Effective purchasing, Interbike Sneak Preview and the Exposure meter. The articles that keep coming back for more are: Guest Editorial (by Maddog Moeller), One Company-One Question (this time with Bombshell/Avent), Shop Scope (Off Road Peddler - Houston), BMX Trends (what's selling in the shops?) and the Dealer Directory (a useful list of BMX related companies). If this sounds like something you'd like to receive in the future, use your business card and your signature requesting the publication.
October 17, 2005, Vista, CA - After nearly twenty four years of leadership in developing the Haro brand, Jim Ford will resign his position as President and CEO of the company effective October 28th, 2005. In explaining his decision, Ford had this to say, "This was probably the most difficult decision I have ever made. I've invested nearly half of my life into this company and I'm saying goodbye to a lot of people who I consider friends and family rather than employees, associates, and customers."
Ford will remain available to the company to assist in the transition to new leadership and to insure that business continues with as few interruptions as possible. "I joined Bob Haro in early 1982 and from that first day, Haro has always been a great place to work. It's both a company and a brand that inspires pride and passion in virtually everyone who has been associated with it throughout the years. And those qualities are what made the job fun and challenging for me for so many years".
