American BMX Freestyler Hannah Roberts is just 22 years old but has still amassed an impressive list of achievements. She has several UCI World Cup titles, five World Championships, and an Olympic silver medal. That silver medal came during the Tokyo games in 2021 when her score of 96.10 was a little short of Great Britain’s Charlotte Worthington, who took gold with a score of 97.50. Three years later, Roberts is hoping to win that elusive gold medal.
“I knew that there were some things that I could do to improve my score and hopefully take that gold back. I messed up in the moment. That's all it is,” Roberts said of her performance in Tokyo.
Since winning the 2017 world title when she was just 16, Roberts has been the pre-eminent figure in women's BMX Freestyle competitions. Her latest triumph at the 2023 World Championships in Glasgow marked her fifth time donning the prestigious rainbow jersey. Of course, following crashes at both the World Championships in Abu Dhabi and the final World Cup event in Australia in 2022, it’s clear she’s not invincible. But despite those crashes and injury setbacks, she’s determined to persevere and go for gold in Paris this summer.

For this new edition of FISE Montpellier, 15 disciplines will be in the running with over 45 competitions on the program on ramps specially built for the event on the banks of the Lez. With world cups, renowned contests and night-time competitions, the 2024 edition promises to be sensational, and will provide an opportunity to take stock of Olympic medal hopes just 2 months ahead of the Paris Olympic Games.

UCI BMX Freestyle Park World Cup
BMX Race Ljubljana kicked-off the Dr. Auer BMX Alpe-Adria series, the most important competition for many young riders from Slovenia & neighboring countries. Sunday’s event also had a UCI C1 status, which gave the race even stronger international appeal. Strongest race of the week was won by German Philip Schaub. The weekend of racing at BMX Park Ljubljana, preceded on Friday by the fun-filled Argeta Junior KoloPark Pokal pump track event, attracted riders from Austria, Italy, Hungary, Germany & Slovakia, as well as the entire Slovenian BMX scene.
