Despite encountering injuries in the current season, Roberts resumed her winning ways by clinching victory at the initial World Cup event in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia. Alas, there has been new competition for Roberts, most notably from Chinese 18-year-old Zhou Huimin. But the competition has only made Roberts more determined to win Olympic gold.
“I’m always excited to keep pushing my riding but I also enjoy seeing the push from other riders,” Roberts says.
Roberts is well aware that it is not easy to keep winning. With the increased competition throughout BMX, she knows she must continue to improve herself to keep winning trophies and secure the Olympic gold medal she covets.
