Filmed on March 30th 2010 at Lohof bike park, Munich.
Riders are Michael Rösler, Manuel Dersch, Matthias Herberg.
To capture the video I used the Panasonic GH1 with a selection of Nikon prime lenses (16mm f2.8 fisheye, 20mm f2.8, 35mm f2, 50mm f1.8, 85mm f1.8). Stills were taken with a Nikon D700 and the 70-200mm vr1 lens.
You can see from the video that a photographer made it, since panning is noticeable by it's absence. However, my main aim from the afternoon was to test the lenses out and produce something that merged stills and video together. I could have used the GH1 to do the stills as well but a D700 and battery grip gives me 8 fps and, coupled with it's razor sharp shutter lag, then it's just easier to catch the bikers mid-trick. The 70-200mm is also a beautiful lens for stills.
