Finishing in second and third respectively, Sandoval and Kevin Peraza will also advance to the dirt finals in Salt Lake City. Due to the three-stop schedule of the dirt discipline, the top three competitors from each stop will move on to the Finals in Salt Lake City.
After throwing down to win the competition, Edgar admitted, “Sandoval is always good competition. I’m psyched to go back to Salt Lake City this year for dirt!”
In the BMX park contest, 15-year-old Sandoval clinched his spot in the Finals with a run that included 720 whip, front flip, down whip, flair, and super whip.
“It was a pretty good day,” Sandoval confessed with exhilaration.“I can’t believe I landed my front flip, I haven’t tried one in months – Psyched for the finals!”
Edgar’s previous trip to the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals was in 2009, where he competed in BMX park.
“Overall this contest is awesome; it went really well, and it’s sick to see someone getting behind the dirt scene,” said Compound’s Shane Guillen. “It’s dope that Gatorade is stepping up to get kids motivated to compete!”
