The sold out arena in Vienna exploded with every big trick that was pulled. Highlights were: Superman Front-flip, Front-flip whip, and Cash Roll No Hander from Brett Banasiewicz, Side by Side Front-flip and Backflip, 360 Triple Whip from JB Peytavit, Back-Flip Superman, Double Grab, and Backflip 360 from Nicholi Rogatkin.
Then there was the super-kicker. This kicker was 9 feet high, had a 35 foot gap, and a steep 30 foot roll in that got you exhausted just walking up it. And the MTB guys just sent it on this ramp. Even though the ramp was set up for MTB, Patrick Guimez and Vincent Massardier got up on there and went for crazy stuff on it.
Guimez did a back-flip no hander and turndown, and Vincent did an unbelievable front- flip turndown. Sam Reynolds pulled a flip whip and a HUGE superman seat-grab one hander, Andreu Lacondeguy threw down an enormous back-flip superman, back-flip indian air, and had the crowd on their feet after his perfect double backflip. And the finale on the super-kicker went to Bienvenido Aguardo-Alba, who did a double front-flip. This was insane! He was the first, and is still the only guy double front-flipping a mountain bike.
The Motocross guys also showed off their skills, competing in moto whip and high jump contests. They also did various impossible flip variations, including Flip tsunamis, indian airs and superman seat-grabs. One guy even did a body varial! Two snowmobiles and ATVs also pulled flips. And the mini-bike guys did a crazy stunt of their own, getting two riders on one mini-bike, and doing a backflip. The crowd loved it. B
ut the best part wasn't there yet. The after-party at the Prater-Dome was still to come. After the signature session, everyone made it out to the party in the club, which was soooo sick! The fuel girls were wild and incredibly hot in their show. The stuff that they did, man, that only goes down in Europe. The party went on until the mid morning, and it was a great one. Andreu Lacondeguy said it the best: “We should get paid for the after party, man. My body is way more sore from partying than from riding.”
Masters Of Dirt 2011 blew Vienna up!!! Thanks to everyone in MOD for once again, putting on an incredible show.
