What was meant to be his final run before retiring at the Dew Tour in Las Vegas last October changed this star's life's forever. After suffering a severe brain injury, while performing a routine trick, TJ has gone thru extensive rehabilitation and occupational therapy to get back to the sport he loves. Though no longer riding, TJ is still an active part of the sport, designing the Dew Tour's new BMX Dirt course that was unveiled this last week at the Portland Invitational on the banks of the Willamette River.
Though it's been a slow road back, TJ's determination and never give up attitude are an inspiration to all. From hosting MTV's The Challenge to designing the course, he's proven that you can bounce back. Alli Sports and NBC documented his road back in a touching piece.
