The 5th edition of WUPcontest is over, with 73 riders competing (45 amateurs and 28 pro), and also some “big” name, like Daniel Penafiel, Francisco “Perico” Jimenez, Stefan Lantschner etc. The skatepark was not so big, therefor I decided to organize the training in groups of 10 / 12 riders, and this was a good solution to have more space to ride the park. The qualifying run on Saturday, and the riding level is the best ever seen in Italy, also on amateur class. On Saturday night the beach party made some alcoholic victim, and the girls were not just watching the boys having fun.

On Sunday afternoon we had the main event with two finals, the first for Am class, 3rd place went to the news “Barbero”, Simone Barracco (15 years old) with back to back tech trick, like baspin disaster, feeble barspin out, baspin fakie etc. 2nd went Manuel Bettassa, big transfer barspin, turndown on the spine, etc. 1st place Luca Gambarelli with good style and lot of trick, 360 on the spine, big air x-up, and 540° air.

Now it was time for big show with ther pro class finals. First place went to Daniel “naran” Penafiel from Spain, with an amazing run, included 360° flat spin on the spine, flip, table to table, whip, a perfect flair and an huge cross footed flair. Second place for Stevan “smooth style” Lantschner, 360° nosedive on the spine, and others stylish tricks. 3rd Fabio D’Alessandro,

high whip on the quarter, turndown, 540° etc.
