Straight after the Papendal race we cruised over to Eindhoven for the 040BMXOPEN contest. Some money was up for grabs and lots of goodies at the popular BMX park in Eindhoven. Going indoors when the weather is nice outside always hurts but at least
Frits van der Linden had set up his Weber BBQ kitchen outside to enjoy the sunshine. Indoors some hot riding was still coming up with the Red Bull High air comp taking place when we walked in. With
Daniel Wedemeijer in the building it would be hard to beat that guy. But
Shannon Balorian, Paul Thoelen and
Leroy Kleppe kept him honest. The extra kicker in front of the box jump gave the riders the possibility to show some race skills to gain extra speed for the undervert quarter that was used for the high air comp. Daniel Wedemeijer set an air at 3,10 meters that wasn't beat by the rest of them.
The high air comp was followed by the Pro finals. 8 riders. 2 groups of 4. Jam session. 2 runs each, plus last trick.
Shanice finished 8th but did pull a flair on the quarter and a frontflip on

the resi. Maybe that doesn't count for some but show me one next time and I'll say Hell yeah!
Rene had some barspins and some whips and combined the two over the jump box. Bars to whip to some sore nuts. He'll get it. In sixth we had
Mike Henrick who showed an awesome handplant 180 on the step-up and footjam on the wall. It was clear he was a bit fatigued after riding all day because if he'd pulled everything that he wanted to do, he would have placed higher for sure. Jonas was going off and had the fans go loud. 5th place.
Tobias Freigang rode solid but couldn't stick his last trick. 4th place for the German. The first podium spot was for
Shannon Balorian who cruised around his "home park" and threw so

me big tricks like a flip down the step-up, the Indian seatgrabber and for his last trick he tried the flipwhip on the quarter with his correct foot forward. Never scared to step it up. The third place check was his.
Paul Thoelen, just like the others, had been riding all afternoon. Stepping things up at the end was tough and also Paul had a little crash in his run but showed enough talent to finish on second place in Eindhoven. The kid is actually too good for his age and finishing 2nd to
Daniel Wedemeijer isn't bad at all. Daniel has been making regular trips to the 040BMX park and simply in on a roll lately. Tech trick after burly trick after transfer, he mixes it up and keeps it exciting whenever he drops in. The flip drop into the bank was a surprise for many and he's loving the quarter to quarter transfer on the East side where he even tried a flipwhip over that gap. Pushing it all the time, to get better.
