We've landed at the FISE contest in Montpellier, France. It's not quite summer yet and we even had a little rain this morning but things are looking good for the next few days. And not only weather wise.
Gary Young has arrived and had a bit of a jet lag. The Mirraco team riders (
Mirra, Spinner, Laird) and also
Daniel Dhers are stuck in New York but will arrive tomorrow. 10 English riders (a.o.
Webb, Wallace, Surridge, Miller, Watkinson, Aller, Hennon, Yates) have made it across the pond and so has
Matt Fairbairn from Australia.
Together with
John Heaton, Alessandro Barbero, Jean Marie Baertsch, Senad Grosic, Mark Koenig and all the French riders, the contest is expected to go off this weekend.
It's amateur days on Thursday and Friday but Saturday and Sunday hosts the pro program. The event has moved to a new location which is a big improvement over the last few years when it was held on a field near the Zenith in Montpellier. The organization has brought it to a river bed closer to the city and it looks really good. The neighbors are already complaining and they don't even know what's ahead of them. Ole Ole Ole Montpellier!!!
With a bit of luck we'll have some updates in the next couple of days but you know how these things go. Too much action, too many parties, to much catching up to do to spend time behind the camera, the computer and walking around trying to find a decent internet connection to upload everything. Check back in though, you never know......
