The Dew Tour Toyota City Championships kicked off their final day of competition in Brooklyn with the BMX Streetstyle competition. Local east-coaster Garrett Reynolds claimed the top spot with his last of run of the contest, earning himself a score of 90.75 – the only athlete to break the 90’s this weekend so far. “I love being here in Brooklyn and the weather is great. It’s the perfect time of year to be on the East Coast and streetstyle is one of my favorite events,” said
Reynolds. “The best part of this contest is when I dropped in for the first time.
There’s no skate park this big in the world that I know of, so it’s really fun to figure out how to ride it, there are so many options.”
Reynolds’ winning run included a three lookback over the box jump, a switch flip over the Toyota car and a tailwhip over the final rail. This marks Reynolds second BMX streetstyle win after earning the top podium position in 2013 at the Toyota City Championships in San Francisco.
Dennis Enarson of California, earned his second podium finish of the weekend, taking home second place after impressing the judges with his third and final run of the day, earning a score of 89.75. New Jersey-native Scotty Cranmer placed third with 89.25.
The final stop of the 2014 Dew Tour season will be the Mountain Championships taking place in Breckenridge, Colorado on December 11-14th. Coverage of the Dew Tour Toyota City Championships will be broadcast on NBC on October 19th.
