The world’s best riders put their practice rounds behind them and broke out their most aggressive runs during today’s two preliminary heats. Athletes didn’t hold back, wowing peers with tricks like double tailwhip on the shark fin, 270, flip barspin to no-hander and a backflip triple barspin. They competed to be one of the 12 athletes to advance to tomorrow’s finals. Differing from other BMX events, it was their fellow riders that decided who moved forward in the competition, descending in front of a crowd of over 3,000 spectators tomorrow at Oskar Blues REEB Ranch.SATURDAY FINALISTS
