The „Pros“ showed some good moves, too. Tino Schnecke did really nice and high Barspin Airs and Gregor Podlesny showed some real stylish maneuvers. Andre Sagody rides like a wild monster: full speed, high Airs, and banging moves are always on his list. The mini was almost too small for him. He impressed the judges with huge Invert Airs, nice Footjam combos and a Manual to Whip. Robin Buck from the south of Germany showed his transition roots. He lives close to the German concrete park Mecca that is Lake Constance and knows how to throw down on a miniramp. He pulled a good Whip to Icepick on the sub. After everyone had taken their runs, the judges were not able to name a winner, so Robin and Andre tied for first place.
After the miniramp contest, the best trick comp on the newly built ledge obstacle went down. The set-up featured two ledges, a London gap and a small quaterpipe. Flyouts where prohibited, so the jump box kids had to show their street skills. Dennis Kicza did a classic Framestand Feeble down the ledge and some new-school 360s and Barspins to flat. Jochen from Ulm took the comp a little more serious then Dennis and did a Smith grind up the ledge to Barspin off. Ralf Schiefer always has some unique moves to offer and showed a Toothbonk to Half Barspin. Bruno Hoffman was tech as always and did a Fakie Manual to Manual 360 down the London gap.
Björn Elvering likes to grind and so he did a Fakie 50/50 grind down the ledge. Robby Grimm did another wild move: full speed 180 Tiregrab down to flat. Jan Heinen from Cologne showed up and did a curved Nosemanual across the construction first try, and after some tries he also pulled a clean Luc-e grind to 180 as his finisher. After the contest, the crowd judged the riders. Jan Heinen had the most impressive moves and won the competition.
After that the Long Jump madness went down. A small and sketchy kicker was used as a launch ramp, there was very little space to get speed and the riders had to jump to flat. Alex Reinke offered a 50€ drink certificate for the after party and that was enough reason for the riders to jump as far as they could. Björn Elvering opened up the wild contest and did a 5,30m jump, followed by Manuel Recktenwald, who did a real long Barspin. But nobody jumped as far as Robin Buck, who almost cleared the six meter mark and finished with his second first place of the day. Afterwards, dinner was served. Yeah, you heard right! It is a tradition in Muenster to have a pasta party for all the riders in spectators after the contest. Like I said, the organizers take really good care of the riders at the Münster Jam. They also gave out free water and bananas, which is really nice, when you ride in a hot skatepark all day.
After dinner, the after party took place in the cafe next to the skatepark. Thanks to free Jägermeister and a good DJ team, the party ended in the early morning.
Thanks to Jochen, Roland and Alex for yet another great Münster experience. Hope to see you next year!
