FISE 08 impressed everyone again with his smooth style, but it was Liverpudlian, Harry Main who created a stir with an incredible run putting himself in league with the big guns.
He basically showed everyone how the Braun Spine should be ridden, in amongst the array of amazing combinations he pulled a tailwhip to fufanu on the sub box and aired the Spine straight into a perfect 900. It was totally awesome. The results for the qualies which came in 1- Dhers 2- Webb 3- Main, were slightly controversial. We couldn’t wait to see how these three would get on in the finals.
Sunday saw awesome runs from top riders like Tony Watkinson (UK), Chris Mahoney (UK) and Ryan Elcock (UK) but the top three slots were always going to be fought out between the qualification winners. Again Webb ripped it with tricks like a decade tire tap, 360 tailwhip to X up over the spine and an X up flair to mention but a few. Dhers was unlucky enough to get a puncture just at the end of his first run and was forced to ride on a borrowed bike. Although what he did was amazing he was hindered by an unfamiliar set up, his next run and best trick not being up to his usual perfect standard.
The judges announced Mark Webb first, with Main in second and Dhers third. It's best out three stops wins so as it stands, Webb, Dhers and Main are all in with a chance for Braun glory. The Braun Spine will next be at the BMX Masters in Cologne, July 04-06. Mark will be even fitter, Dhers will be eager to get back on top and Main will have dreams of stamping his authority on the ramp he loves to ride.
The Freecaster.tv crew was at NASS to film the contests and you can view the top three riders below. If you can't make it to Germany, they will be showing highlights from the finals of the Braun cruZer Tour on their Braun cruZer Tour Pro channel.
