Winners at each tour stop received PlayStation® prizes and the top athlete in each sports category won a free week at Woodward Camp (travel expenses paid by PlayStation®) for their chance to compete as finalists in the AM JAM Finals. More than 39 finalists competed at the PlayStation AM JAM finals this year, ages 7 to 18, including the first female finalist in the event’s history – 14-year-old skateboard vert athlete Abby Zsarnay.
This year’s PlayStation AM JAM BMX winner was Trey Jones from Apopka, Florida.
The PlayStation AM JAM finals winners received $5,000, a scholarship to Camp Woodward and/or Woodward West facilities for the entire 2009 season, a PLAYSTATION®3 system, and a PlayStation® prize pack (worth an approximate value of $5,600).
Past winners of the PlayStation AM JAM have continued on to become professional athletes in their respective sports, including Mike Spinner, Dave Bachinsky and Evan Smith.
