So welcome everybody to the second edition of Hit The Target, the BMX contest organized by Alessandro Civera of NoSoccer.com with the help of BMX locals at Soncino, a small village in the North of Italy. Well, the park is small as well, with a bunch of structures put in an an empty squared pool. A lot of riders showed up for this best trick contest with an original formula: the park is split in three sections, the spine, the wallride and quarters, and the street oriented area. That means, there are three changes to win the 500 euros as first prize. Too bad,
Simone "Kid" Baracco is taking part to the contest as well, so everybody is just competing for second and third place! Simone is a trick machine, that is. Smooth, with style and pulling any trick at first try. Oh, and he is riding brakeless not because he's used to, but just because he broke his brake some day before. On the spine he goes straight to first place with a 180 bar to bar to fakie, scoring higher then
Alessandro Froio's 180 whip and
Ivan Piloti's whip transfer to the funbox.
On the quarters area
Simone is going insane with a 540 barspin and making sure to get another first place with a barspin to footjam;
Froio gets another second place with a massive flair, while brakeless
Pier Lofrano gets third with a backward riding on the wall bank to barspin hop. Then there is the street area, and again, Simone rides the park just f
or the time to pull his tricks, bar to icepick grind on the short rail and 360 barspin on the steps. Pier has the possibility to show his street skills at his best with a 180 up the steps, riding backward on a long way to the other side of the pool and getting into it with an half cab. Same thing for
Giancarlo Marrone, who gets third place bunnyhopping on the picnic table and 360 out of it.
When the contest is over, it's time for the party on the frass, just in front of the park. Some band is playing on a stage, but it's more fun to have a drink with friends and eventually find an inflatable kids pool, put some water in it and your friends as well.
