LG World Tour Rimini Italy
Another stop for the LG Action Sports World Tour, this time in
Rimini Italy. After a Helltrip of 2 hours car drive to Germany, 2 hours flight to Italy, 1 hour busride to trainstation, 1 1/2 hour train ride in a hot train whithout airco and 1/2 hour taxi ride we made it to the nice hotel and started to recover from the trip.
Rimini is a small beach town with
150 Beachclubs so the streetcourse and halfpipe were about 100 meters from the beach at the Piazzale Fellini. Doing Halfpipe shows with girls in bikini all over the place it was a pleasure for the Spanish Fly and John Parker, they did demos with skaters Ringstrom and Dias and some Inliners to please the Italian boys & girls. No halfpipe contest this time.
The streetcourse was build on a
curved street so that made it kinda unique to have obstacles not in a straight line but it didn't stop the Italian riders from ripping. Yes only Italian riders showed up but don't underestimate these Italians and if you do talk to the mafia first.....
Loris Cangini from Bellaria aged 15 made it to 5th place in finals with of course "tailwhips" the latest fashion in BMX.
Fabio Limonta from Canovie was the "stuntman" with his fullface Hellmet with high airs, 360's and after his run he treated the crowd with a super smooth alley hoop grind on the sub box!
Alessandro Tisoni got 3rd place and was happy with that, in qualifiers he didn't impress to much but in finals he gave everything and made it to top 3.
Stefan Lantschner is living in Nothern Italy so he seems German/Swiss and talks many languages but is real Italian and has a unigue style riding for Flybikes/Carhart/Koolt and Etnies and had the lead after the first run but "Vamos ala Playa"
Alessandro Barbero impressed more with his 360 whips, Flips and even did a crowd pleaser and threw in a Flip whip for the crowd and pulled it, no problema!
This LG Action Sports World Tour will end with the finals in Manchester later this year with Alessandro Barbero as one of the finalists.
